1 Background of the study The San Pablo Colleges was founded last February 1947 to meet the needs of the growing school-age population of the City of San Pablo and its neighboring towns. From its humble beginnings, in make shift room and rented buildings, the San Pablo Colleges in a brief span of five years acquired a one-half hectares of wall lot at Hermanos Belen Street in the Heart of the City of San Pablo. Dr. Antonio Azores was their first president. However, when it was in the middle 50s the San Pablo Colleges began to build its prestige in becoming one of the notable institutions in the country. This time a comprehensive building program was undertaken. Judge Paulo de Gala Macasaet, considered as the father of this Golden Era of Renaissance, was Chairman of the Board of Trustees and later College President. The present leadership has embarked on programs seeking the accreditation its courses and has been continuously searching how the teaching learning process will not only be effective and efficient but relevant as well. As everyone knows education is ever growing and there is no end to its progress. Every generation shall have its contribution and for now there is no substitute for the development of the college we all love and revere. 1.2 Statement of Problems 1.2.1 General Problem The general problem of San Pablo Colleges was the borrowing and returning of the books was being process manually.

1.2.2 Specific Problem The specific problem of San Pablo Colleges was the monitoring of the books takes too much time and their service was very slow. 1.3 Statement of Objectives 1.2.1 General Objective The study generally aims to automate the library system of San Pablo Colleges. 1.2.2 Specific Objective This study specifically aims to: 1.3..1 To be efficient in monitoring books, if it is borrowed or returned 1.3..2 To have an easy access of the book information 1.3..3 To have an easy access of the students information 1.4 Significance of the study 1.3.1 Librarian The study is useful to the librarian since their work will be easier and it will not take too much time. And the software that the researchers made will be their solution in encountering different problems. 1.3.2 Students The study is useful to the students to easily identify the particular information of books in the library. And they can easily search or borrow for the books they needed.

The study is useful to the researchers to have an additional knowledge about Visual Basic 6.0, like programming and designing. 1.5 Scope and Limitations 1.4.1 Scope 1.4.1.1 The System can also be use for adding, deleting, searching, and editing of books information. 1.4.1.2 The system will save the transaction for borrowing and returning of books. 1.4.1.3 The System will provide the report. 1.4.2 Limitations 1.4.2.1 One problem of San Pablo Colleges is not covered by the proposed system like computing of penalties.
