Manas677 a year ago Hi, To pursue Masters in Surgery from Australia you will have to first get yourself registered with Australian Medical Council (AMC) and clear its test to practise. It's the mandatory requirement to clear and then only you can go for any clinical course at a postgraduate level in
Australia. After that you need to send your SOP (statement of purpose) along with your academic certificates to the Universities. Once you receive the University acceptance letter you can apply for the Visa. An IELTS of overall 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0) will be the mandatory requirement by the Australian Visa High Commission. Entrance exam conducted by Australian Medical Council (AMC) is not very easy to clear so I would recommend you to keep options open for non- clinical courses like Public Health, Health Administration etc. 00 Report Abuse

Shiksha Counselors a year ago Hi, to enrol a student must hold a MBBS degree from a medical school approved by the executive dean; and have completed two years clinical practice after graduating with the MBBS.For admission to MD in Australia you need to first register with the Australian Medical Council (AMC). The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is the organisation responsible for assessing overseas trained doctors to enable them to obtain registration in Australia. The AMC also accredits Australian medical Schools courses leading to registrable qualifications. Postgraduate medical education is conducted by professional associations of doctors called `Royal Colleges' and not by universities. The college sponsors training in the major specialties. This training extends from 7 to 10 years. During training candidates are employed in approved posts in hospitals and after the training they are awarded a degree which permits specialized practice. An international student must first secure a training position which is not quite easy to get. Postgraduate award courses are conducted by each university. An IELTS of overall 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0) will be the mandatory requirement by the Australian Visa High Commission. The average expenses for a year are around 10-11 lacs p.a. (inclusive of both the cost of living and the tuition fees). You must meet medical registration and immigration requirements to work in Australia as an Overseas Trained Doctor (OTD).You need to apply for work permit after you get a job. If you revert with the course (specialization) details we can guide you in a better way. Good luck. 00
