CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP SCHOOL (CLS) SUBDIVISION This subdivision is designed to acquaint moderators, congress presidents, state directors, deans, and instructors with the policies and procedures governing Christian Leadership Schools that function under the auspices of the local church, district, or state, or the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Courses in this section wiII assist students in completing the Certificate of Progress Program (COPP) and address the process and requirements for leadership school accreditation and certification/recertification of deans and instructors. 2023Creative Ways of Teaching This course is designed to instruct in the methods of teaching in the local church setting. Who Is the Conference For? The conference is designed primarily for pastors, Christian educators, teachers, church auxiliary leaders, and potential writers of Sunday School Publishing Board materials. General AssemblyPlenary Sessions Christian educators: All delegates are advised to take advantage of the general lectures and worship experiences. Each lecture is an independent presentation that is purposed to challenge us for preparedness to defend our faith with biblical integrity. National Congress Deans Orientation The National Congress Deans Orientation, held Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m.9:00 a.m., is designed to provide in-service training for instructors, lecturers, and staff who serve in the National Congress of Christian Education. Theme writers will present an overview of the Congress theme. General information will be provided on the 2012 Annual Congress Session. All registered delegates can attend the National Congress Deans Orientation. Commencement Service The commencement service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 7:00 p.m. All persons who completed the Pastors Alternative, Advanced Pastors Training Program, Certificate of Progress Program (COPP), or Deans Certification courses during 2011 are invited to participate. All graduation participants are to wear black. Participants are to assemble Wednesday, December 14, at 6:30 p.m. Please check with the Division of Christian Education Accreditation and Credentials for additional information. Conference ID and Security Everyone is required to wear conference identification at all times. No one will be admitted into conference lectures, modules, or classes without conference identification. Special security has been added to monitor the conference compliance.

Meals During the 2011 SSPB Conference, you may find it convenient to have your meals at the Nashville Convention Center or the Renaissance Hotel restaurant. Please check those facilities for times and locations. Parking Parking wiII be avaiIable at the garage (across the street from the Renaissance Hotel) at a cost of $8.00 per day (with no in and out privileges). Parking at the Renaissance Hotel is $27.00 plus tax per day (with in and out privileges and valet). Register Early and Save! Early registration begins June 15, 2011, through November 18, 2011, at the cost of $125 per delegate. Registrations must be received online (www.sspbnbc.com) or via mail by November 18, to qualify for early registration. Mailed registration forms must be postmarked November 18, 2011, to qualify for the early registration fee of $125. The Pastors Alternative course at $150 is not eligible for the early registration discount. The regular registration fee of $150 will apply to all registrations received after November 18, 2011. NEW Continuing Education Units (CEU) Credits Available American Baptist College has agreed to grant Continuing Education Units (CEU) for courses offered at the Sunday School Publishing Boards Conference of Christian Education. No additional academic work will be required. Those who qualify for the SSPB Course Card will also be eligible to receive the CEU credit. The registration fee for the CEU credit will be $50. More information will be available at the Conference in Nashville. Cancellation Policy There is a fifty-dollar ($50) nonrefundable cancellation fee between October 15 and November 18, 2011. No cancellation reimbursements will be given after November 18, 2011. However, the registrant may transfer registration to another person who must complete a registration form online or on site, and present receipt of the registered delegate. Conference registrations are NOT transferable to the next year. All cancellation requests must be in writing and received on or before November 18, 2011. Written cancellations can be received through the online registration site, fax (615-242-2825), e-mail (christianed@ sspbnbc.com), or via regular mail at the above address. All refunds will be processed by January 30, 2012. No reimbursements of cancellations will be permitted after November 18, 2011. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via mail, e-mail, or fax to the Division of Christian Education Accreditation and Credentials by November 18, 2011.
