Current Employment Position Field Coordinator Location- Ganjam, Orissa Joined September 2010 Organization- Public Health Foundation of India, New Delhi Cost to Company ( at present) Rs. 5,20,000/- P.a. Reporting Authority- Principal Investigators , PHFI Duties & Responsibility At present working as field coordinator, for Public Health Foundation of India in Ganjam, Orissa for their operational research project in the district. The project deals with various ways of strengthening the health systems delivery in the district and thereby helping the district to have better health indicators. This is both a research & interventional project. The main components of the project are: i) Identifying the locations of the blocks where the health indices are low ii) Conducting PRA survey in 320 villages of Ganjam District iii) Followed by in-depth situational analysis & a robust household survey along with meeting with various multiple- stakeholders. iv) Identifying, monitoring & evaluating the performance of partner organizations which help in promotion of health care services. v) Devising , planning & implementing various methods which would further help in achieving the targets of health indicators

Past Employment
WITH NRHM, Orissa as district hospital manager I worked as Hospital Manager, in District Head- Quarter Hospital, Rourkela for the period of 19th March 2008 to 20th July 2009. I was appointed through the National Rural Health Mission. My job responsibility was to be the facilitator in the hospital in improving the public health delivery and its facilities. Rourkela , is in the tribal dominated district of Sundergarh which is around 60% of the total 4 million. Most of the people are dependent on the district head quarter hospital, Rourkela A tertiary care unit of the place. Reporting officer was to the Chief Medical officer, Rourkela Govt .Hospital & Mission Director, NRHM, Orissa.

Various duties performed at NRHM as a part of the JOB RESPONSIBILITY : 1. For Maternal Care : I worked to the best of my efforts to improve the health delivery system specifically for women, children, and families through advocacy, education, and research. This I accomplished by discovering and testing solutions through applied research and by developing, implementing, and/or evaluating health programs at the local level. I tried to improve the Institutional Delivery with the help of various NRHM initiatives like the JSY, ASHA, regularly monitoring the proper & timely JSY disbursement in the hospital. I was asked by the Chief medical Officer, Rourkela Govt. Hospital to co-ordinated the activities of ASHA & other health workers. 2. For Integrated Child Development ; Regularly monitored the IMMUNISATION CAMPAIGNS in the hospital. Arranged for different strategies in promotion of immunization campaigns Made need assessment surveys in coverage of immunization promotions Helped in setting up the New- Neo Natal Care center of the hospital which was supported by the UNICEF. Helped in setting up the new Delivery Ward of the hospital which was supported by the NRHM Helped in transmission of data of Routine Immunization of the hospital to NRHM Helped in Maintaining the Cold chain maintenance system of the hospital. Informed about the supply chain network of the ORS packets to the head office Actively performed the managerial duties in PULSE- POLIO campaigns, & surveillance reporting of the new AFP cases suspected or diagnosed. Linkage to the district authority for all ICDS works in the hospitals like School Health Camps 3. HIV/AIDS related activities Promotional & Awareness programs for HIV/AIDS prevention. Organized & gave educational message on Camps in rural & urban slums towards Awareness of condom usage Co ordinate with the State AIDS cell for timely delivery of all Logistics relating to HIV/ AIDS like rapid detection kits, educational vouchers etc. Helped & Monitored activities of the counselors of VCCTC cells of the hospital Monitored the various activities of local NGOS involved in TI projects Surveillance & Data keeping of the TB and HIV patients Held School Health programs for adolescence training.

4. Disease Surveillance and data collection


Actively participated in the disease surveillance program in the hospital to check for the acuteness of disease. Helped in monitoring of any epidemic or pandemic outbreak of any disease in the area. Efficient timely onward transmission of the data for future course of action. Active door to door surveillance in focus areas during an outbreak of any disease. Regular monitoring for the new cases of Malaria & other vector borne diseases in the hospitals.

5. Conducted the research Determine the various factors which can lead to effective implementation of anti-tobacco laws in Bhubaneswar, Orissa through inter-sectoral advocacy programs for the course of post graduation diploma in public health management from IIPHD. 2. Conducted a short term consultancy service ( Oct -2011 ) for UNAIDS, New Delhi on the project determining the barriers for effective implementation of PPTCT prog. In Delhi which consisted of qualitative research & social mobilization with People Living with HIV in New Delhi
