V-Stitcher, V-Styler or V-viewer 4.8 prerequisites

Browzwear application family version 4.8 requires that DirectX 9 be installed on the computer beforehand. In case it is not already installed, it can be found on the installation CD. To download the installation package: DirectX 9C : http://dwn.browzwear.com/Files/directX9.zip (95.5 MB)

Note:
Even If you have DirectX 10 or 11, these components are still usually missing by default This installation is a new release that solves DirectX 9 display problems which existed previously for some graphic cards including Intel onboard ones

Dot Net
The installation verifies the existence of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, if needed it will install it right away. In such case, the machine must be restarted to continue with the Browzwear installation.

Hardware requirements
3

Minimum hardware requirements to run the V-Stitcher, V-Styler or VViewer smoothly:

Pentium 4 512 MB of RAM Graphic card, min 64 Mb INTEGRATED with support for pixel / vertex shader 2.0 Intel Core 2 Duo processor or higher 1 GB of RAM or More 4 GB of available hard disk space Graphic card, DirectX 9.0C compatible or later

Recommended hardware requirements for optimal performance:

Windows Vista or 7 specific Minimum RAM 1GB Recommended RAM 2 GB or more

Supported operating systems

Windows 7 (32 bits) Windows Vista (32 bits) Windows XP (32 bits)

License Key
Make sure your license key is installed properly before the application installation. If the red light of the license plug is off, download and install the HASP drivers: Installing HASP drivers 1. Download ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/new_releases/driver/HASP4_driver_setup.zip 2. Unzip 3. Run the extracted exe file

Note: Do not allow windows to update the drivers automatically. In some cases this
may stop their Browzwear functionality

Browzwear Database
The Browzwear applications database is based on Microsoft SQL server Database installers, administrators and users are subject to the SQL server & operating system user rights hierarchy The supported SQL versions are 2005 & 2008 Please practice regular backups Browzwear applications version 4.8 database tasks should be carried out by Browzwear Database Administration application version 2.5 and use database version 100 (Released with Browzwear Version 4.7)

Browzwear Database Administration

Use the Browzwear Database Administration application to create, populate and update databases The Browzwear Database Administration application has a separate installation package It should be installed before VStitcher, VStyler or VViewer in order to prepare the database for the Browzwear application The Browzwear Database Administration application may be installed on a separate machine without a Browzwear license plug, but it must have a license plug when o Creating a new database o Populating a database o Updating data When using a central server, use the Browzwear Database Administration application to create and populate the database before installing the clients, so upon installation they can all connect to a ready, workable database When installing an independent machine, use the Browzwear Database Administration application to create and populate the database before the installing the main application

SQL server information

Central server For a central server, it is recommended to use the full SQL server edition Any Named instance can be used (Default: unnamed) Local server For local server, the express edition must be used The named instance must be the default : SQLExpress For the 2005 express edition, please use the Service Pack 3 release SQL Server Express Edition download http://www.microsoft.com/express/database/

Hats: important when migrating versions older than 4.6

This is a mandatory operation in order to work with hats. Adding hats garment types to the Database 1. Open the Database Administration application 2. Select Administration tab > Garment Types

14

3. 4. 5. 6.

Press the Add button. The input fields become available In the Name Filed enter a name e.g. Hat or Cap In the Position drop down list, select Hat Press the Save Button. The new garment type is ready.

Important when migrating versions older than 4.5 data: Unisex size charts separated
Some of the old commonly used sizes charts in the database were originally defined with the gender unisex. The unisex size charts contained 2 different sets of sizes: male and female. Version 4.5 or up and the new database are now breaking them apart into two separate independent size charts. This action is done during the migration of the data from older versions to the new database. Example The old size chart Numeric (F-30-62) (M-32-70) was split in to two separate size charts:

1. Numeric (F-30-62) (M-32-70)_Female 2. Numeric (F-30-62) (M-32-70)_Male Consequences When opening a garment that used to use an old unisex size chart, it may load the chart of the wrong gender now. Should this happen: 1. In the Gmap, load the appropriate size chart for this garment, gender wise 2. After this action, make sure that the Gender field in the matches the appropriate size chart

Known issues
Crash when opening the DB connection manager The 3D window turns black after the screen saver is activated

VStitcher (or VStyler or VViewer) crashes when trying to switch database

In certain cases, when trying to switch, or check database connection (Tools > DB connection > Database Connection) the application crashes. This is a known problem with Microsoft WPF. (The problem does not happen when using the Browzwear database Administration utility) In all cases where this problem exists, please use the provided solution:

Using the database connection function independently Database Connection to set the DB connection with VStitcher (or VStyler or VViewer) closed 1. Make sure VStitcher (or VStyler or VViewer) is closed 2. In the VStitcher (or VStyler or VViewer ) Program folder (Typically C:\ program files\Browzwear\[ VStitcher (or VStyler or VViewer )]\[version number]) run the file ConnectionManager.exe 3. The Database Connection dialog box opens 4. Select the required database and click Connect. The dialog box closes 5. Now open VStitcher (or VStyler or VViewer). The application is connected to the database defined in step 4 above

The 3D window turns black following screen saver activity

In many cases, following a screen saver activity, the 3D window becomes black and seems to be stuck. This often misleads the user to close the entire application in order to overcome the problem. The solution is to manually resize the 3D widow slightly. This reloads the DirectX driver and the 3D window turns back to normal. 18
