Dear Sir,

Let us introduce ourselves consisting of a team of experts in conventional swimming

namely, “Abhyas”. We thought why not we go for research and invent something new in
this particular discipline. After several sittings in groups, we have been able to give new
dimensions or ‘New Methods’ to swimming, apart from the conventional swimming
Methods. Of course, after practicing by ourselves and for the benefit of Public, in general,
irrespective of Sportspersons, gender, caste, creed, even able or disable, we have been
successful in introducing the ‘New Methods’, which are discussed in our attach
supplement for your kind perusal . We are very much confident that being a stalwart in
the field of swimming you will definitely like it and would extend your valuable hand of
help in achieving global publicity amongst the people not only in the Orient but also in
the Oxidant. Anxiously, awaiting your favourable response at an early date which will no
doubt encourage us to go ahead with this noble venture for the cause of Social Welfare.

Regards,

Sincerely yours,
For AB H YAS

FOUNDATION OF SWIMMING

Everything gets importance to Public (viz. Readers, Listeners and Spectators) through
media presentations. First of all it is the responsibility of the media persons to evaluate
the valuation and the eligibility of the subject matter. For consideration, some New
Methods about the water game are being dealt here. Yes, very much known subject-
Swimming. Had it been taught in New Methods, it would have been possible to bring to
the notice of common people for the cause of social welfare. It is essential to convey the
Public about the new methods. Therefore, for this purpose, the wise counsel and advice
of the Media Persons is a must. In general, common people’s idea is that they would
definitely sink in the water had they not been trained in Swimming. But in reality even
the limbless handicapped (disabled) persons never sink in water. How? Answer is self-
experimentation by trying to swim or by seeing the performance in person. By this New
Methods, even it is possible to make the handicapped self-sufficient for swimming.
Several types of Swimming become antidotes to several diseases. However, very few
people exercise swimming. With the new methods, especially with slow motion
alternate poses, several chronic diseases like ‘Diabetes’ ‘Rheumatics’, ‘Asthma’ ‘Blood
Pressure’, ‘Osteoporosis, Cramps’, gets remission. Swimming in alternate pose is nothing
but exercising ‘Pranayam’ in water. The benefits out of it could be observed by regular
exercise. The main reason of disease is due to mental stress; In general, the new methods
keep away diseases and bring pleasure of mind and body. Also the new methods of
alternate poses not only give remission to labour pain but also help in normal delivery.
Perhaps, the Indian Physicians are well aware of the experiment of Dr. Michel Odent
2
(Pithiviers Hospital, France) in this particular discipline. The new methods eliminate the
depressions and loneliness of elderly persons.

Admittedly, the start of swimming is quite tuff and painful. But with new methods
nothing much is to be done to float on water. Normal breathing can be possible from the
beginning. Once mastered in the methods, there is no risk of sinking in the rest of life.
The methods are based on long period experimentation. The natural tendency of floating
on water exists in almost all beings which can be understood by everyone following the
new methods. Even Age, Sex, Fitness, Costumes do not pose any hurdle while practicing
with the new methods. There is no denying the fact that if the new methods are followed
right from beginning, all sorts of water games may become universally first choice to
almost all human beings.

For training purpose, this is divided into 4 Stages viz. “Bari Sandhan”, “Bari Taran”,
“Bari Baran” and “Bari Sharan” which are discussed briefly in seriatim:

“Bari Sandhan” (Preparatory Stage)

Dip while normal breathing, lying on breast and back and then rolling vice-versa, in
presence of a trained teacher. A child, an elderly person or a handicapped can achieve this
technique by regular practice for 3 months divided in 25 Classes (bi-weekly). After 3
months an Examination is a must to qualify this Stage.

“Bari Taran”(Formal Competitive Swimming - Secondary Stage)

This Stage consists of Free Style; Breast and Butterfly Strokes to be practiced in presence
of a trained teacher. Examination is to be held after every three months.

“Bari Baran”(Informal Swimming - Tertiary Stage)

For this Stage while passing out of preparatory stage is a must the secondary stage is
optional. The trainee participants can choose of their own from the hundreds of new
informal styles with irrespective of speed, motions and directions for practicing under
expert advice. Examination is to be held after every three months.

“Bari Sharan”(Yoga/Acrobatic/Synchronized Swimming – Quadruplet or Final

Stage)
This Stage consists of exercising different poses and postures so far mastered during the
preceding stages just to enjoy the eternal feelings of wonderful achievements in order to
surrender all thoughts so accrued towards aqua (water) be performed during the
Examination to be held.

The Public should be informed about the benefits of all the Informal swimming styles.
Wherever the Trainings is imparted, witnessing the effortless floating the Public may be
encouraged to get themselves enrolled for learning it. The vivid difference between the
Informal and Formal styles of Swimming can not be explained in black and white and as
such a 12 min. video CD is available for viewing.

Usually, all Swimming Pools remain closed between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
onwards and this time-gap can be utilized for imparting New Method Training
Programme in small groups of 50 candidates each (which is not confined to Sports
2
Persons only). There is also scope of self-employment e.g., to obtain Trainees from
outlets like School, Colleges, Offices, Commercial Establishments, Clubs, Associations,
etc. and to arrange for their Examinations, Competitions, Exhibitions and Transportation .
Thus the revenue so collected from this source perhaps is sufficient and there is no need
to collect any dole from the Public exchequer.

There is hardly any article or write-up describing the difficulties faced by the beginners
for learning Swimming. Only Extra-ordinary performers attract Publicity. The New
Methods are helpful to maintain such lineage. The world famous Swimmers can scan the
potency of the Trainees. Both the Trainees and Trainers can seek advice from such world
famous Swimmers at the right opportune time.

With a view to Social welfare, even unused Water-bodies can be utilized for such
Training/Practice, duly discouraging the prevailing tendency of constructing high-rise
buildings on it.

To put life on this dream project, all concerned are requested to rise to the occasion and
contribute their respective mind to the noble cause. Initially, finding out of the venue for
this project is mandatory.
