OIB Head of Compliance recognized for outstanding achievements at ACAMS annual conference
The Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) presented Hany Abou-El-Fotouh with achievement award at its 5th annual conference in Las Vegas.

Each year, the advisory board reviews all applications for award nominations and selects a member that has contributed the most to the anti-money laundering (AML) field. Abou-El-Fotouh was recognized for his outstanding performance in this field and for the extra steps he has taken to safeguard his organization from money laundering. He has won this award for two consecutive years. Abou-El-Fotouh, Assistant General Manager and Head of Compliance of Oman International Bank (OIB), was awarded the Community Impact Award for outstanding contributions within the AML community. He has been actively promoting the culture and knowledge of anti-money laundering and combating terrorism financing in the Middle East and is founder and moderator of the Middle East Compliance Officers Forum (MECOF) with +400 members. The Forum aims to be a communication channel connecting compliance professionals in the region. He is also founder and moderator of the 'Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Compliance Services Group,' which is responsible for posting commercial and business advertisements in relation to compliance and AML services including jobs, software, conferences, training, events and consulting. Abou-El-Fotouh is also a regular speaker at regional conferences ACAMS has more than 4,300 members in over 100 countries and has certified more than 2,000 professionals already recognized as the highest standard for the professional in the moneylaundering prevention field. "I am thrilled to win this award," Abou-El-Fotouh said. "I was fortunate to win this award for two years and I am very grateful for the support I receive from OIB. The award recognizes the special effort required to spread strong compliance culture and knowledge. It means a great deal to me and I am honored to be recognized in this way."
