I have extensive Design for Manufacturing and Desig n for Assembly experience using advanced SMT technology and full RoHS compliance experience. Examples projects are: Design updates to Hellfire Missile Test Set ; Design of in-home patient monitoring system; Design of Ethernet switch for gig abit over fiber; Design of embedded hardware & software for microprocessor contr olled exo-skeletal arm with PC interface for handicapped; Development of upgrade s to helicopter and jet aircraft flight simulators; Patent pending design for pr essure feedback regulated clamp truck mechanism; Design of embedded hardware and software for anatomically programmed x-ray generators. Previous positions/titl es: Senior Design Engineer, Team Leader, Engineering Management. EMPLOYMENT ERC, Inc, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL through Frankie Friend & Associates May-2009 to Present: Senior Electrical Engineer. Development and integration o f specialized test equipment for Hellfire, Longbow and Javelin family of missile systems capable of running live ordinance. Developed excellent working knowled ge of latest version of Altium Designer CAD system. At ERC I have used my consi derable design experience and troubleshooting skills to create, debug and field both new designs and updates to older designs that meet the increasing demands o f complex missile systems and testing criteria. As part of this (and virtual al l of my career) I constantly must evaluated design requirements against componen t and assembly specifications to ensure compatibility and compliance. Authored original 'Local Practices' documents to standardize in-house engineering and doc umentation standards using Microsoft Office Suite 2007 Word, Excel, Visio. Trac ked projects using Microsoft Project 2007. Created project overviews using Offi ce 2007 PowerPoint. Independent Contractor, Huntsville Area - Sep-2008 to May-2009: Hardware Design Engineer for various local companies. Implemented changes and updates to micro processor based designs including all schematic and printed circuit board (PCB) work. Sanmina-SCI, Huntsville, AL - Apr-2006 to Sep-2008: Senior Hardware Design Engi neer for Medical Design Group. Design of Medical Electronic Devices involving p roprietary medical devices to enhance medical care and quality of life. Respons ible for ensuring designs met EMI/EMC/Regulatory requirements. Responsible for writing Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis criteria and execution. Independent Contract Engineering & Consulting Jun 1995 to Apr-2006: Jobs include d large, medium and small contracts for local, national and international compan ies. Projects varied from simple to complex using schematic capture and PCB lay out software from Mentor and OrCAD/Cadence tool set; Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) design using Xilinx and Altera toolsets; PBasic, C & C++.
