Venture Manager- Special Products: 2006 to 04/2009 Reported to the Division General Manager. Responsible for operational and produ ct development for fledgling business unit with annual sales of $21 million. Bus iness was formerly comprised of a relabeled product. Spear headed the development of a new which product proved to be a game changer in the rotisserie oven market. Submitted 11 patents based on the new product. Grew company annual sales from $16 million to $21million during tenure in positi on. Planned and moved the operation 85 miles without interruption of operations. Upon completion of the successful move, there was a restructuring of the divisio n by corporate, eliminating the Venture Manager position. Venture Manager -Deli Systems: 2004 to 2006 Reported to the Plant Manager and 2 Division General Mangers. Responsible for o perations of 2 business units with annual sales totaling $80 million, including vendor management, budgeting, materials management, cost control, ISO, capital p lanning and implementation, manpower, manufacturing/industrial engineering, and design engineering. Hired and managed a design staff of 3 to in-source 2 products and develop a thir d in house. Received 1 U.S. patent for linear actuator for another division. Reduced costs by $1.2 million annually by in-sourcing 2 products. Introduced water jet cutting to sheet metal cell and Kan Ban method that resulte d in 3 days max WIP ($300,000 reduction in WIP). Developed a kitted assembly, which reduced Kan Bans from 47 cards to 3. Reduced production costs by $250,000 annually by implementing a simple rewards s ystem based on hours per unit. Introduced a 5S program with related incentives to 3 manufacturing organizations , copied by other plants within ITW.

Mechanical Components Venture Manager: 2000 to 2004 Reported to the Plant Manager. Responsible for all aspects of operations of a $1 00 million business unit. The business unit was a captive non-union machine shop with 70 CNC machines, processing steel, stainless steel and aluminum bar, gray iron and aluminum castings, sheet metal, welding, gear cutting and precision gri nding. Reduced plant inventory investment from $12 million to $3.5 million through the implementation of cellular manufacturing, lean manufacturing and applying 80/20 principles. Achieved a 15% increase in machine shop efficiency through the establishment of machining cells, Kan Ban, and material handling. Reduced plant operating budget by $1.5 million. Reduced cost of a targeted product by 25% resulting in an annual savings of $250 ,000. Implemented a new shaft machining process, which resulted in an annual savings o f $155,000. Reduced rework and scrap by $15,000 year (3 consecutive years). Received U.S., European, and Republic of China patents for linear actuator. Served as continuous improvement consultant on Kaizen Blitz teams and served as consultant on powder coat paint system-out gassing issues. Manufacturing Manager: 1999 to 2000 Responsible for plant hourly personnel, supervision, budgeting, production sched ules, and related cost control. Implemented integrated perishable tool supplier, which produced an annual saving s of $65,000. Increased span of control for supervisors, resulting in an annual savings of $10 0,000.
