I have extensive experience in the analysis, design, implementation, and optimiz ation of both database software and database

applications. I am familiar with a variety of database systems and database vendors and have over twenty years expe rience working with Oracle databases and related products such as Designer and P L/SQL. My special areas of interest include systems analysis and design, data mo deling, physical database design, database tuning, database architecture, genera l IT strategies, master data management, and business intelligence. I have serve d as the chief data architect on several projects and have also developed IT str ategies for various types of business areas. During my 30 plus years in informat ion technology, I have served in roles that span the full development life cycle . Recently retired from Eli Lilly and Company, I still like the challenge and sa tisfaction of solving difficult problems and am looking for full-time or part-ti me contacting engagements in the Indianapolis area. Used the architecture to implement four warehousing efforts including one which involved warehousing data out of SAP and then creating a data mart based on a su bset of the warehouse data. * Designed the application and database for a reserve tracking system for India na Association of Independent School Trusts.

* Designed and implemented the query optimizer for a parallel relational databa se product and assisted in designing and optimizing data warehouse/mart applicat ions at several customer sites for Data Parallel Systems, Inc. * Created logical data model for a quality control laboratory and assisted with fitting the model to an existing software package and optimized the runtime dat abase environment for Amgen. * Managed database activities during the entire development life cycle of the L illy ADMIN/LIMS project. Main responsibilities included specifying the database architecture, designing the physical and logical database, optimizing the databa se, setting up DBA procedures and assisting in tool selection. * Designed and delivered six, one-day seminars for database professionals on be half of the Indiana Center for Database Research, a joint effort of Indiana and Purdue University. Dome Software Corporation, 1987 - 1991 * Managed project and served as database specialist for the prototype of a mult i-user, client-server application for clinical trials management at Eastman Koda k. Main responsibilities included specifying the database architecture and desig ning the logical and physical database as well as managing the entire prototype development. * Managed project and served as database specialist for the design and implemen tation of a multi-user, client-server application integrating the activities of four quality control labs at Boehringer Mannheim (now Roche Diagnostics). Main r esponsibilities included supervision of the preparation of the design document, specifying the architecture for the major system components, and designing the p hysical and logical database. Also participated in implementing reports and tren d analysis as well as performance optimization. * Served as representative to the Technical Committee of the Object Management Group. * Designed, developed and installed a commercial application of an object-orien ted database in an insurance testing laboratory. * Designed and developed an object-oriented database environment based on a rel ational database kernel. Main responsibilities included design and development o f a DDL compiler and its interface with the database kernel as well as optimizat ion of the entire environment. Indiana University, Bloomington, 1985 - 1988 * Supervised on-going student database projects within a large university commu nity as well as participated in course preparation and delivery for upper-level and graduate students. Indiana Vocational Technical College, 1974 - 1985 * Designed, prepared, and presented several data processing courses with an emp hasis on COBOL programming and systems analysis and design. United States Army Finance Center, 1967 - 1970 * Supervised the modification and maintenance of over one hundred programs comp rising the Army's allotment check and bond subsystem.
