Current students have until the end of 2011 to complete the coursework and until 2012 to complete the degree. Although an average of 60% is required to be admitted, students with less than 60% may apply and the Department will indicate which modules they have to redo for Non Degree Purposes (NDP) to obtain an average of 60%. From 2012 this degree will change to an MCom degree only. Students must apply directly at the Department of Industrial and Organisational Psychology before 1 September. Note that students have to do an Internship of 12 months at an approved Institution to qualify for registration at the Professions Board after TPIPSY9 (Theory and practical) has been completed. A student must hold: (1) a three-year recognised Bachelors degree with 360 SAQA credits; and (2) have had at least three years appropriate work experience; and (3) have access to a computer and the Internet. The minimum hardware requirements are as follows: Pentium III (500 MHz); SVGA monitor (1026x728); CD-ROM (32 X speed); 128 MB RAM; Windows XP; 500 MB hard disk space; mouse; keyboard, etc. Other requirements are Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Internet Explorer 6 or higher and the internet connectivity should be at least 56 Kbps; and (4) submit a personal letter providing reasons for wishing to enroll for the MBA.

All assignments are compulsory and must be submitted electronically on the electronic delivery system (eds) of the GSBL before or on the due dates. 2. Students are required to obtain a year-mark of at least 40% in order to gain admission to the examination in the paper concerned. EXAMINATION 1. In all the papers the weight of the year mark is 40% and that of the written examination 60% of the final mark. 2. The pass mark for a paper in all the years is 50%. The pass mark for an aegrotat, special or supplementary examination is also 50%. 3. The year mark will only be taken into consideration when an aegrotat or special examination is written and not in the case of a supplementary examination. 4. To qualify for a supplementary examination, a candidate must obtain an examination mark of at least 40% (subminimum) and a final mark of at least 45%. 5. Supplementary, special and aegrotat examinations may be granted, subject to the conditions set out in my Rules @ Unisa. 6. ASSIGNMENTS AND EXAMINATION ADMISSION 1. All assignments are compulsory and must be submitted electronically on the electronic delivery system (eds) of the GSBL before or on the due dates. 2. Students repeating a paper will do assignments specifically compiled for repeaters. They will do these repeater assignments in their individual capacity and not as a group assignment. 3. Admission to the examination in the papers can only be obtained if the student actively participates in all the group activities, including attendance of study schools, for all the papers for which he/she is registered. 4. Students are required to obtain a year-mark of at least 40% in order to gain admission to the examination in the paper concerned. EXAMINATION 1. In all the papers the weight of the year mark is 40% and that of the written examination 60% of the final mark. 2. The pass mark for a paper in all the years is 50%. The pass mark for an aegrotat, special or supplementary examination is 50%. 3. The year mark will only be taken into consideration when an aegrotat or special examination is written and not in the case of a supplementary examination. 4. To qualify for a supplementary examination, a candidate must obtain an examination mark of at least 40% (subminimum) and a final mark of at least 45%. 5. Supplementary, special and aegrotat examinations may be granted, subject to the conditions set out in my Rules @ Unisa. 6. To be awarded the degree with distinction, a candidate must obtain an average of at least 75% in the second and the third years combined. A student: (1) must hold a three year Bachelors degree (360 SAQA credits) and an MBL or an MBA or equivalent degree from an approved tertiary institution with an average of 65% for the Masters degree; (2) could be requested by the GSBL to pass one or more departmental examinations or complete additional MBL or MBA modules if deemed necessary; (3) will be selected based on his/her academic performance. To be allowed to register a student must: (4) complete a prescribed reading programme to the satisfaction of the GSBL within the first year of registration; and (5) submit a title and an approved research proposal for the projected thesis not later than the end of the second year of registration.
The curriculum comprises a thesis on an approved topic. The student must at end at least four colloquia to submit reports on the following: (i) idea formulation and title (i) literature review and research proposal (ii) problem statement and research methodology (iii) research results Satisfactory progress must be demonstrated at the colloquia to ensure reregistration.
