Mentor Drillers Intercom

The Mentor digital intercom system provides fully selective point to point two way non blocking voice communications. The system is fully configurable ''down the wire'' allowing complex on site configuration/ reconfigurations without recourse to de energising equipment or taking the system out of service. Configuration is retained in electrically alterable non volatile memory obviating chip exchanges or other hardware orientated modifications.

The Mentor Digital system can provide site wide communications both in Hazardous Zone 1 explosive atmospheres and office environments. Installation costs are minimised by utilisation of ISDN protocol which eliminates multicore cables, Mentor Digital requires only a SINGLE pair of conductors to establish a fully featured selective intercom. Digital technology assures very high reliability and excellent intelligibility of speech. Hands free operation allows convenient man/machine interface and standard Mentor features include noise cancelling microphones plus high power 20 watt amplification in industrial locations.

Reduction of through life cost is a major design consideration, service is greatly reduced by integration of diagnostics presented on intelligent ''liquid crystal displays'' which allow the engineer to assess outstation status WITHOUT having to open the enclosure [ This is a critical feature when the unit is located in a permit to work area] Mentor Digital supports a range of accessories e.g. headsets, remote microphone / keypad assemblies, extension paging loudspeakers and visual call beacon annunciators in areas of extremely high noise.
