RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
The University of Texas - Manthiram Laboratory, Austin, TX June 2009 present Graduate Research Assistant Material Synthesis: Synthesized lithium intercalation cathode materials through solid state process for lithium-ion batteries. Electrochemical Characterization: Determined how the concentration of iron in singly substituted spinel cathodes influences the capacity fade of lithium-ion battery cathodes. Boise State University Ceramic-MEMS Laboratory, Boise, ID January 2006 May 2009 Undergraduate Research Assistant Material Characterization: Investigated the thermo mechanical behavior of LTCC under steady state conditions of constant load and constant temperature using a solution precipitation creep model for characterization. High Temperature Deflection: Performed high-temperature three-point bend tests on LTCC and determined the influence of processing and in-service variables on deflection using DOE.
Continued
Device Fabrication: Methodized the fabrication process for the turbine component of Brayton Cycle Heat Engine made from LTCC.
Administered two hours of data analysis sessions each week. Wrote, administered, and graded exams. Overall teacher evaluation score: 4.3/5
Developed experiments for undergraduate to gain a basic understanding of research process. Taught synthesis and characterization techniques for cathode materials. Collaborated with undergraduate student about results and presentation techniques. Successfully motivated undergraduate to apply and accept a summer research internship.
