The elephant army

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarokatuh. A very good morning to our chairperson, honourable judges, teachers and all my friends. Today, I am going to tell, a true story about, the elephant army In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful 1. Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant? (The elephant army which came from Yemen under the command of Abrahah Al-Ashram intending to destroy the Kabah at Makkah). 2. Did He not make their plot go astray? 3. And sent against them birds, in flocks, 4. Striking them with stones of Sijjeel. 5. And made them like an empty field of stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle) The Holy Quran, Chapter 105, Surathul Feel (Chapter of Elephant)
In Yemen,

There once lived a governor, named Abrahah Al-Ashram, under the Nejjashi empire of Abyssinia. Abrahah wanted to please Negus, so, he built a huge place of worship for the Christians. He wanted to attract the attention of the crowd going to Mecca for Hajj and had plans them to this new place of worship. It seems an Arab, who did not like this plan, entered into this new place and defecated everywhere, spoiling the whole place. When Abrahah saw that, he could not control his anger. Whose did it? shouted Abrahah angrily. He raised an army to invade Makkah and demolish the Kabah. He lined up a big army and headed to Mecca fully loaded. His army was special. It included thirteen elephants and amongst them was an elephant called Mahmud which was the biggest of them. When Abrahah reached the outskirts of Mecca, he captured 200 camels of Abdul Muthalib, the grandfather of Prophet Muhammed (s) was the leader of Quraysh. He informed Quraysh of his intentions. I want destroy Kabah and never wanted to engage in war with you, Quraysh! said Abrahah. Abrahah called Abdul Muthalib, who was responsible for taking care of Kaabah, for a meeting. Abrahah, while talking to Abdul Muthalib regarding his intentions, he asked Abdul Muthalib if he has anything to say. Abdul Muthalib said; your men hold my camels in captive. Please release them. Abrahah was surprised and said, You are a useless, you just concerned about your camels not your kaabah; Abdul Muthalib retaliated, I am just the owner of the camels. That monument has its own Owner. He will take care of it. I and my tribe didnt have the courage and strength to face an army as big as yours, Abrahah.

O the people of Makkah, evacuate the city, go to the top of the mountains with your wives and children, some harm should come to us from the invading oppressors. O my God, Im so sorry, Oh my God Finally, the army moved towards Makkah, till they reached valley Muhassir. While the army was marching towards Makkah, in the middle of the valley, the elephant does not move forward whenever it is directed to Kaabah. It kneels down. The army tried its best to get the elephant moving. The elephant would move to any direction except towards the Kaabah. Suddenly, they heard terrible sound and saw flocks of birds, flocks after flocks, the birds carried stones, and they showered onto the army, slightly bigger than a lentil seed. There never fell a stone on a soldier, except it dissolved his flesh and burst it into pieces. So they perished with a total destruction. Abrahah Al-Ashram fled away while his flesh was bursting into pieces till he died on the way (back to Yemen). Allah knocked out the army and saved His monument; the Kaabah. Lets conclude the story by reflecting on the reply of Abdul Muthalib to Abrahah. We are responsible for what is in our control; Allah will take care of the rest. Allah promised to save Islam until the end of this world and it will be so! No matter whoever plots against it!

Thank you. Wabillahi Taufiq Wabarakatuh. Walhidayah Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi
