ABSTRACT [11, bold, center] The abstract should give the readers concise information about the content of the report and should include the 1.) objectives, 2.) the major results obtained, and 3.) conclusions drawn. It should be self-contained with no reference to figures, tables, equations or bibliographic references and should not exceed 200 words. [11, justified] Introduction [11, bold, left] The introduction should state clearly the objectives of the experiment, its scope and main advances reported, with brief reference to relevant results by other workers, and the theory behind the experiment. Formulas used in the calculations should also be placed in the introduction. [11, justified] Experimental Detail [11, bold, left] The experimental detail should contain a summary of the method used in the experiment and the explanations for the important steps in the experiment. It should also include illustrations of setups used in the experiment, if any. [11, justified] Results and Discussion [11, bold, left] This section should include the discussion of 1.) data, 2.) results, 3.) the errors and limitations of the results, and the 4.) comparison of experimental results from theoretical results/ literature values. The results should be justified using the theory. This is the heart of the formal report. [11, justified]. Conclusion [11, bold, left] This section should answer the question: 1.) were the objectives of the experiment achieved?, 2.) what are the final results?, and 3.) what conclusions can you infer from the results?. This section should also include any recommendations for the improvement of the experiment. [11, justified] References [11, bold, left] [1] Atkins, P.W., Physical Chemistry, 8th edition. Oxford University Press, 1998, 737-746, 761-764. Appendices This section should be in a separate page and should be presented in one column. If 2 or more appendices are needed, they can be labeled as Appendix A, Appendix B, etc. Data, sample calculations, and other pertinent information that is too lengthy to be included in the discussion should be placed in the appendices. SOME IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. The paper should be written in passive voice and in a 3rd person point of view (do not use the pronouns I, we, our, etc.). 2. The full paper should be written in Arial Narrow 11 unless specified. All borders must be 1. 3. Equations should be numbered sequentially throughout the text (i.e. [1], [2]. [3],) and 1

should be prepared using Equation editor or MathType, ex:

4.

[1]

No handwritten equations shall be accepted since this is a FORMAL report.

5. Labels of tables should be placed ABOVE the table, ex: Table 3. The o values and the corresponding R2 values at 28.15oC. Electrolyte R2 1cm 2 o, mol HCl 0.921298957 580.8102454 NaOAc 0.903808698 124.8772679 NaCl 0.994255727 127.948624 6. Labels of figures should be placed BELOW the figure, ex:

Figure 3. The ionic atmosphere in (a) the absence of an applied electric field, and in (b) the presence of an applied electric field.[4] 7. When a statement, figure, etc was taken from a particular source, cite it by putting a superscript of the number of the reference (as written in the References section) after the statement/figure. 8. The paper should have page numbers. 9. The flow of thought should be continuous and coherent (i.e. it should have appropriate transitions between ideas).
