Explain steps involved in Multimedia Development Stage.

Most multimedia and web projects must be undertaken in stages. Some stages should be completed before other stages begin, and some stages may be skipped or combined. Here are the four basic stages in a multimedia project

Planning and Costing

There are 7 activity in this stage ; y y y y y y y Specific Objective Users scope What Materialto include in media Storyboard sketch Hardware and Software requirements Development team & responsibilities Budgeting for software , hardware utilities and internet

Designing and Producing

y y y y y Design using software (animation,button) Integration of all elements eg: button Prepare a complete storyboard (clean up) All element include in authoring tool. Complete the project .

Testing
y y Selecting of colour,button,navigation and hyperlink 2 types of work helds in this there are alpha and beta. Alpha The alpha stage is usually for the software testers who are within the organization. They are not the developers or the engineers for the company; they will do the internal or inhouse testing of the software for the sake of helping to develop a strong product. Beta This beta is the actual product ready and can be purchased by consumers. And also is must 80% of satisfaction of consumers.

Delivering
Three methods of delivering is televisyen ,website(internet) ,CD or DVD.

Explain the factors needed to build multimedia application.

Creating a multimedia project people need 4 factors are:1. 2. 3. 4. Hardware Software Creativity Organization

Hardware
In a ordinary computer some built-in features that can read and manage sound and image data is are Ram,Processor,Hard-Drive,CD/DVDR Drive,Sound Video Display.

Software
Graphic design photo editing application:- Adobe Photoshop , Corel Photo Paint Digital sound editing application :- Sony Sound Forge, Goldware Nonlinear digital video editing :- Adobe Premier Final Cut Pro Multimedia unthoring application :- Adobe Director Web animation :- Adobe Flash Web-specific graphics design tools :- Adobe Image Ready, Adobe Fireworks Presentation tool for quick prototype Presentation :- Microsoft power point

Creativity
Taking inspiration from earlier experiments, developers modify and add their own creative touches to design their own unique multimedia projects. It is very difficult to learn creativity but the better you know the medium, the better able you are to express your creativity.

Organisation
Develop an organised outline and a plan that rationally details y y y y y the skills, time budget tools resources you will need

Explain responsibilities and role each of Multimedia Development team.

Project manager The project manager is responsible for: y The overall development, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the project. y The design and management of a project. y Understanding the strengths and limitations of hardware and software. y Ensuring people skills and organizational skills. Conveying information between the team and the client.

Multimedia designer This team consists of: y Graphics designers, illustrators, animators, and image processing specialists who deal with visuals, thereby making the project appealing and aesthetic. y Instructional designers, who make sure that the subject matter is presented clearly for the target audience. y Interface designers, who devise the navigational pathways and content maps. y Information designers, who structure content, determine user pathways and feedback, and select presentation media.

An interface designer is responsible for: y Creating software device that organized content , allows users to access or modify content , and presents the content on screen. y Building user-friendly interface. A Multimedia Writer is responsible for: y Creating characters, action, point of view and interactivity. y Writing proposal and text screen. y Scripting voice over and actors narration. A Video Specialist needs to understand: y The delivery of video files on CD, DVD or web. y How to shoot a quality video y How to transfer a video footage to a computer y How to edit a footage down to the final product using a digital nonlinear editing system

An Audio Specialist is responsible for: y Locating and selecting suitable music and talent y Scheduling recording sessions y Digitizing and editing recorded material into computer file.

Multimedia programmer, also called a software engineer: y Integrates all the multimedia elements into a seamless project, using authoring systems or programming language. y Writes codes for the display of multimedia elements, and to control various peripheral devices. y Manages timings, transitions, and record keeping. Multimedia producer for the Web: y Web site producers put together a coordinated set of pages for the Web. y They also co-ordinate updates and changes
