Relevant Professional Experience

Service Department Manager: Black Roofing, Inc. Boulder, CO
Content on the departments Web page did not accurately reflect its service offerings, capabilities and commitment to quality. Overhauled the departments Web pages to engage prospective customers and depict the department more professionally online by rewriting service descriptions and selecting, optimizing and posting new digital photos. Revamped department operations by: collaborating with the project manager to develop and implement a spreadsheet for project bidding; meeting daily with field crews to review project status reports and customer complaints; preparing and submitting pre-project inspection presentations to prospective customers; soliciting pricing from equipment and material vendors; preparing project estimates and competitive bids; and serving as client liaison to obtain feedback for improving service quality.

Outcomes achieved: 1) a higher quality online representation of the departments capabilities and core values; 2) more complete, detailed project documentation; 3) accurately priced bid estimates; 4) a steady decline in the frequency of customer complaints; and 5) a margin increase of 20 percent on $1.4 million in project revenues in eleven months. Project Manager: Douglass Colony Group, Inc. Commerce City, CO Projects awarded to the company were suffering scope creep and losing money. Staff and executive management were bombarded with customer complaints when scheduled installation dates were missed and product quality expectations were not met. Resolved these issues by: submitting required project documentation (e.g., material specifications, product literature); scheduling and coordinating installations; soliciting competitive pricing from material and rental equipment suppliers; generating purchase orders, tracking shipments, and coordinating deliveries; monitoring fabrication and installation quality; preparing and submitting change orders; tracking labor costs and generating project status and financial reports; and managing customer relations.

Repeated project successes led to multiple, simultaneous project assignments for the companys Aluminum Panel, Solar, Roofing, and Architectural Metal Divisions totaling more than $5 million in 24 months.
