to understand the concept of Human Rights and its impact on UK government policies and the public services

All learners will be able to identify the humanitarian rights of citizens in the UK. All learners will be able to outline the key humanitarian rights in the UDHR. All learners will be able to discuss where the principles of rights/beliefs and values originate. Most learners will be asked to put in order of importance the rights outlined in the Human Rights Act 1998. Some learners will be able to begin compiling notes for use during discussion of the different human rights. Introduce task to identify learners initial knowledge of human rights and legal rights of citizens in the UK

Group activity / group discussions Those learners who complete the activity before others could be asked to put in order of personal importance to feed back to group
