Communication management Communication management generally refers to the combined set of activities which lead to the timely generation

of information, the information being collected from and passed to the relevant authorities or individual or departments responsible, assessment reports of the performance of the team members and the official interpretation of the information related to the specified project. In general the communication plan refers to the effective communication being carried out prior, during and after the completion of the project to the stakeholders of the project. But before this plan could be designed, identifying the stakeholders for this project is very important. The stakeholders in the M2U IT project are: y APBCL executive management committee. APBCL is the organization which will be using the new project which is going to be developed. They also happen to be the primary decision making board in selection of people at the most important position in the project. The Quality Services Department, Personal Finance Department, MarketingDepartment, TrainingDepartment, and the LegalDepartment within APBCL will also be involved because of the extensive scope of the project. Communication Management Plan Communication Mngmnt Plan fulfills the stakeholder communication requirements. It also deals with other aspects such as the information to be communicated, the method of communication, the level of detail in which the information is to be communicated, receiver and sender of the information, the frequency of communication.Generally in all the cases of the sender and receiver of the information, the central authority will be the Project Manager conveying information to the various departments and gathering information from them and passing the progress report to the management committee. The communication plan can be chalked out in a tabular format which has been provided below. Performance Reporting This is the activity which refers to the periodic information about the progress of the system to the Clients of the project. This is generally done in the form of Project Kick-Off reports followed by periodic status meeting reports. During the M2U IT project, it is expected of the Project Manager to provide the Executive Committee of the APBCL about the progress in the project. Apart from this, periodic Project Meetings with the project members is also very important.
