SealXtra PS
TWO COMPONENT ELASTOMERIC POLYSULPHIDE JOINT SEALANT
DESCRIPTION SealXtra PS is two part polysulphide sealant which cures to form a durable, flexible, watertight bond with most building materials and capable of accomodating dynamic joint movements. SealXtra PS is very good chemical, fuel and mild alkali resistant sealant. It is available in two forms: Gun Grade (GG) and Pouring Grade (PG). BS 4254, BS 6920 (Gun Grade) , A STM C661, ASTM C920, Type M, Class 25 Sealing movement joints in building and civil engineering structures (expansion & contraction joints) , construction joints, control and perimeter joints in parking decks, plazas, high rise buildings and malls, driveways, factory & warehouse floors, fuel storage areas, basements, reservoirs, subways, etc. Elastomeric, reduced stress on the bond line Excellent adhesion to substrates Meets requirements of most international standards Good ageing resistance, excellent chemical & weathering resistance Can accomodate continuous and cyclic movement : Gun grade / Pouring grade : Grey / White : 1.60 +/- 0.05 kg / ltr : 2 hrs : 25 % : 20 +/- 3 : Initial set: 24 Hours : 7 days : +10C to +50C : -30C to +60C : Aviation fuel, White Spirit, Petrol, Hydraulic Fluids, Dilute Acids, Mild Alkalis, Diesel, Kerosene : 100%

JOINT PREPARATION

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, grease or parting compound. Concrete surfaces must be dry and at least 3-4 weeks old. Previously sealed joints should be removed by mechanical means and should be ensured that there are no trace of residue left over it. Proper closed cell backer rods are recommended because of their superior support to sealant under trafficable surface loadings. Generally the joint depth should be equal to or half of its joint width (i. e W:D - 2:1 or 1:1 ). If the edges of joint are generally weak, we recommend to cut the joint edges at both sides & repair it with epoxy mortar to avoid joint breaking & debonding of sealant from joints in long run. SealXtra PS, two part trafficable grade sealant, requires primer for masonary, steel and most common building materials. Joints must be thoroughly dry before applying primer and sealant. If sealant is to be applied to a material with specially treated surfaces or particularly unusual surface characteristics, Consult Conmix Ltd for primer recommendations.Generally SealXtra Primer is recommended. After applying primer, SealXtra PS can be applied after a minimum period of 10-20 minutes.

MIXING

Add entire quantity of Part B to Part A (in case of Pouring Grade) and mix thoroughly under slow speed using drill with paddle. Gun grade just needs mixing as both the components are arranged in layers in the same tin. The sealant should be applied in such a manner so as to ensure freedom from air pockets and to obtain good contact with the joint faces. This will be assisted by good tooling practices. Below given is the general guideline for consumption. Joint Size (W : D ) in mm 10 x 10 20 x 10 20 x 20 30 x 20 30 x 25 30 x 30 40 x 20 40 x 30 40 x 35 40 x 40 Running metre / Pack of 4 Litre 40.00 20.00 10.00 6.66 5.33 4.44 5.00 3.33 2.86 2.50 Running metre / Pack of 2.5 Litre 25.00 12.50 6.25 4.16 3.33 2.78 3.13 2.08 1.78 1.56
