Broadband Internet Virtual Private Network (VPN) A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that primarily uses public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the internet, to provide remote offices or travelling users, access to a central organisational network. VPNs provide many layers of access security, such as remote user authentication and data encryption technologies to prevent disclosure of private information to unauthorized parties. Wateens clear channel circuit or Layer 2 MPLS Virtual Private Network (also known as L2VPN), is a point-to-point pseudo-wire service.
