First off, I want to thank you for your purchase.

It took a lot of time and effort to get all this information into one easily accessible location for your gold making needs. Most of you know me as Alto from Altos Goldish Advice, the premier gold making blog. Others know me as the gold capped (one million plus) gold guru. Whatever or whoever you know me as; I am now your professor of gold making. Now I know this is something for me, but it is also something for you. I hope you can understand. Please dont display the contents within this file to anyone. Once again, I spent a lot of time putting this guide together, and if it gets shown to non-paying folks, we are both losing out on it. I am losing my time; and you are losing gold to your competition. You feel me? Do we have a deal? Good. This guide will be your gold bible of sorts. Hold onto it, dont lose it, and keep it near. I highly recommend that you dont just read it once and toss it in a folder somewhere, never to look at it again, as I am covering some time-honored results that you can utilize on any server; US or EU, horde or alliance, rich or poor. If you quit playing WoW for some weird reason, and dont have a chance to give this guide to a friend, shoot me an email and I will find a good home for your copy. The chapters will help you get started. I have divided them into a few different sections. If you are new to the gold making scene, you will want to start at Chapter I, and then work Chapter by Chapter. Remember in school, when the teacher would tell you Make sure you read the whole question and all the answers before you make your final decision, well, thats what I am telling you. Even if it doesnt pertain to your current gold level, still read the content, and as you are moving up the gold ladder, you will have a taste of the menu of what is available to you. Deal? Ok. This guide tells some of my dailies that I have done to hit the gold cap. By following this advice, you will not turn into a gold millionaire overnight. What you will do is have the knowledge and the foresight to access your Auction House, how to use your crafting professions, and how to find ways to destroy the competition in AH PvP. And remember, you do have 100% access to my blog 24/7 and I consistently update the information there on any new information pertaining to making gold in the AH. Without further ado, welcome to Altos Coaching Guide!

CHAPTER I- Add-ons

I am covering add-ons here. What they are, what they do, what they dont do. If you are starting from scratch, I recommend that you ONLY use these add-ons for my guide. Once you become more and more familiar with the gold game, you can rock any other add-on that you please. My main concern if you are using add-ons that are not listed by me, you might get a bit lost when I explain my screenshots, and remember. You bought this guide because you trust me in teaching you how to make gold. So until you finish the guide, please follow what I tell you. Deal? Deal. For the starting AHer, you have hundreds of add-ons that are available. I go directly to www.curse.com to get every one of the add-ons I will be talking about. They have a very secure site, and if you go anywhere else, that is up to you, but I have been using curse for a long time and NEVER had an issue. Ever. *You can click on these Add-ons to go directly to the site: Auction Add-ons Auctionator Auctioneer Postal Crafting Add-ons OreCrusher Gathermate II Recipe Profit for Gathermate Gatherer Trade Skill Master (TSM) *TSM had multiple modules, so you might need to install them as well: Crafting Shopping Auction DB Mailing Auctioning

How to Install Add-ons using the manual method: 1. Exit "World of Warcraft" completely 2. Download the mod you want to install o Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods" o Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder. o If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As". 3. Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping' Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME! o Windows Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder. WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here" WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed o Mac Users StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory. 4. Verify your WoW Installation Path That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods. 5. Move to the Addon folder o Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\) o Go into the "Interface" folder. o Go into the "AddOns" folder. o In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder. o The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it. o Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder 6. Start World of Warcraft 7. Make sure AddOns are installed o Log in o At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button. o If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked. o If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help. Now I do want to add that if you are having issues with installing these, you might have to go to your chat window and type in /reload. There is a great post over at The Consortium for further instruction on this.

Chapter II- Learning the Add-ons: First off, we will cover what you will need in the Auction house, what they look like, and an example screenshot with explanations of what you are looking at and need to know.

Auctionator. One of the newer AH tools, but one of the best, as this addon has the power in your buying and selling. Lets take a look at what we see:

Here we are looking at the first tab, BUY. Any purchases you make in the game needs to be made from here. In this example, we are using the search function (1) and typing in the item we are wanting to find. What you see next (2), is what pops up on the screen when you tap search. This add-on automatically finds all your competiton in the AH for that specific item. You can see the cost (3), how many are in the stack (4), and total cost (5). Now we start getting a little more complicated. If you look at this picture, you can see a Shopping List (7). Now I will hit more on this later, but I want to hit on this now, because when you get a bit more gold and start crafting/etc this will be one of your best friends. Like Alto. =)

Auctioneer. The oldest an most reliable add-on I have ever seen. Auctioneer has lasted me through 3 desktops and two laptops in and around 4+ years of this add-ons old life. There have been changes over the years, an addition here, an update there, and we are still waiting for the Cataclysm version, but who knows, by the time you read this, there might be one! (Although I am guessing not, but a man can dream, cant he?) The basics: Auctioneer has two different styles or ways to do a scan of the AH (either or is needed to provide a baseline for item prices). One is the GetAll Scan (1). If you are running on anything above a dialup connection, this is the optimum scan, as it only takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes for a complete scan. The other option is to use the normal Scan button (2). The issue here is that it takes around 5-15 minutes to complete the scan. *Now when using the scan, I want you to look at a few things. One, Blizzard only allows one scan per 5 minutes (although this might change), and two, you need to let the AH scan complete. You should see something to this effect upon completion of a scan:

How are we going to use this for goldmaking? We are going to utilize the flip here. Basically that entails buying a product for x amount, and reselling via Auctionator.

I want you to make sure you have at least 7 days of scans of your AH using Auctioneer. If you dont, then remember to come back here. Why seven days? You need a baseline for prices. Ok, lets get to the how to part. I want you to start with Weapons. Click on the Weapon mini tab (1) so the drop down box shows (2). While there, you need to click the carrot or arrow down button, and click on Rare (3). Why? Because I only want you to flip items that are blue quality and above. A rule that I want to impose to you here is the 10%/20% rule. I do not want you to invest more than 10% of your total gold in this, and I dont want you to purchase anything more than 20%PCT (4). Well, at least when you are starting off. When you are starting to bank and have 20, 30, 50K and above, You can move that number up little by little. I have a very strong bankroll (well over a million gold) and I never go above 30% PCT on a flip. Now you need to check through every page (5). The one issue with Auctioneer is every page is sorted, not all at once. So one page might start with 25% like you see above, and then page two starts at a different percentage, three another, and so on. I want you to focus on five tabs: Weapon, Armor, Recipe, Misc, and Quest. There is no need for you to check through anything else. Deal? Good. Postal. Who wants to click on every piece of mail they receive? Not I. Not you. So this is the add-on that solves our little problem. Let me explain. You open your mailbox. Done. It does the work for you. The only issue is that it will open 50 at a time, and then there is a 30 second reset. Then 50 more. Then reset. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat. OreCrusher. Ok, as I am writing this, I really didnt think that the last sentence (lets rock) fit in so well with the first add-on I am talking about. See? I am funny. Ok, heres the picture of what OreCrusher looks like. Its simple to pull up the window, once again go down to your chat pane and type in /oc. (without the period, btw). OC is a great tool for having an educated guess on your prospecting of Cata Ore (Obsidium, Elementium, and Pyrite).

Now for this to work properly, you will need to have had a recent scan of Auctioneer or Auctionator. Then, all you need to do is open your AH and see what your current prices are for Ore. In the picture, you can see that I entered in the cost (1) and quantity of stacks (2), click DO IT (3), and it will refresh the screen showing you how much profit you will receive if you sell the uncut gems (4), if you disenchant (5), if you are transmute the greens (6), and your maximum available profit (7). Fairly simple program, great for prospecting or doing the shuffle. Everything is as exactly as it is explained. EZ!

Gathermate II. This is a great add-on when teamed up with Recipe Profit For Gathermate. What we are doing with this little guy is starting you off in your quest for the gold cap. By using this team of addons, any time that you enter a town or major city, or really anywhere, there will be a little book that shows up for all the vendors with recipies/formulas/schematics, etc. I mentioned earlier that this is for starting off, but I still use this as often as I can to keep my stock of items available for flipping on the Auction House. The top towns for using this? Well, you first have your neutral AH locations: Ratchet, Booty Bay, Winterspring, and Gadgetan. Then, you need to hit a few of the old school towns, Shattarath and Dalaran. There isnt one recipe that I do not recommend to grab. As long as you have gold, buy them. If you can afford, buy multiple of each (unless they are rare or limited recipies, then you dont have much choice but to only be able to get one. When going from town to town, you will run out of bag space. After each town I purchase in, I always send an in game mail to another toon, preferably my AH toon.

Gatherer. There are some very good things about this addon, especially if you, well, gather. If you spend time either mining or herbing, this is a must have: upon setup, you can rock the location of the spawns, find out how long in between the nodes spawning, and a nice map feature as well. =) Instead of going too far into this one, you can hit up a great blog post on it.

Trade Skill Master (TSM) Are you ready? Fun, fun. Please make sure you follow everything in this tutorial, as even missing one area will completely destroy your chances of this addon working properly. At the end of the step by step program I have laid out for you, there is a oh noes, its not working! how-to troubleshooting Q & A. Although this seems extremely complicated to get set up properly, believe me, its well worth the time spent. If you are an Inscriptionist, or scribe as they are better known as, this is a MUST have addon for selling your Glyphs and making a ton of cash! Are you ready for it? Sure you are. Lets get started!

First off, you need to download TSM and the modules: Crafting Shopping Auction DB Mailing Auctioning Gathering Inside the main Addon folder (TSM) there is a great how to on installing this addon, not by a blogger, not by a self professed pro at setting it up, but by the MAN himself, the author of the program:

Ok. So you have the basics down with the juicy AH addons. Lets get to work on the next step. Professions. Whatcha got? None? All of them? Ok. Lets break it down What to craft and when: This is a bit complicated, as there are so many answers. There are multiple ways to check to see what you want to craft. I will hit on these throughout the guide, but here is where you will get the gist of it. Do you understand supply and demand? In a quick example, supply is how much is available. Demand? Demand is a need or want for something. Its Wednesday night. You know that pizza hut has Wednesday wing night. You want wings. Not necessarily need them, but you want them. You know this is the best night to grab them, as they are on sale. The cheapest day to get them of the week. Normally, they are 6.95 for eight. Tonight, they are .50 each, and you still buy them in eight packs. So you save 2.95 per pack (and example of selling one

versus a ten stack, or for the Jewelcrafting daily, why I sell in stacks of 3). So those that are either on a budget or are just looking for a deal, are going to get them tonight. Right? Ok. Now pizza hut sells these every day of the week. There are folks that dont care about the price of them, they just want them, and they want them now. So they buy them, without thinking about the price. See where I am going with this? They are the same wings that you can get on sale on Wednesday, but people buy them throughout the week. This is where I am going with this example. In order to consistently make gold, you need to have a constant supply of X item in the AH. At all times. Back to the story. Now you are all hyped to get wings and a pizza on Monday night. You dont know about the Wednesday deal, so you call pizza hut and order. The issue is, they tell you that there is none available. They are sold out. You get pissed off, and go to another pizza joint to get wings. The same thing will happen if you dont have an item in the AH and someone else does. They want it, they will go elsewhere (another seller) for them. Not because they taste better (all the same stuff- chicken, bbq, etc.), but because there is no supply. If you dont understand supply and demand by now, I feel for you. You are just not cut out for the gold market. You might as well quit the whole idea of making gold. Another option to think about explains crafting. Family X loves wings. They dont have enough money (gold) to buy them premade, precooked from pizza hut (the AH). So they go to the grocery store and buy the chicken and the bbq sauce (they buy the mats). They then go home, and cook them on the stove (craft themselves or hire someone to do so). This is another option of our buyers (or lack of). They have a different game plan. Now if you happen to be a farmer of raw materials (the grocery store) you can get great sales too, so I will never say time is wasted farming. The need is there too. I am hoping you see where I am going with this. Wednesday Wing Night is very similar to your server. Raid nights will have more sales of your pots, elixirs, and buff foods. The day before raid nights is the best time to sell your crafted gear (if its high end). If you are selling mid level gear/weapons, then the weekend is always the best time due to the weekend warriors in the game, leveling their alts. I would love to give you exact times, but this needs to be something you find specifically on your server, and using the examples I have given you can find out. If you are on a US server and have access to The Undermine Journal, this is THE tool to find out supply and demand. If you play EU servers, there isnt a tab on TuJ for them, but you can use the information provided to see what route you can take for selling your wares, as most servers can help you there. Sit tight and I will explain within how to use this tool even though its based on US information. Ready for the next step?

Gold Making Machine!- The Undermine Journal (US Based Servers)

The Undermine Journal. You have heard me mention this many times on my blog, you have heard other gold bloggers mention it, you name it, if you have been around the gold world, you know what it is. Now you will learn how to use it. For those that are EU- Check on the next chapter (just scroll down a bit) for your own personal Gold Making Machine! First off, you are going to go to the main site. The Undermine Journal. Now, you will go down the list to find your specific server (now make sure you pick the correct faction, horde or alliance).

You will now see another screen:

What we are looking at here is the main page for your server. Right below the server name (1), you will see a blackish tab (2) showing Hot Items, Top Sellers, Enhancements, and Consumables. This is where you get into the guts of the site. And did I mention there is a blog roll on this page? There are only great gold blogs here, and the most updated. You might recognize one of them. Alright. Lets use a for instance here. If you are a EU player, you can still use this to help see the average supply and demand on X item by picking a server (but we will get into that further later).

Basically, you mouse over the Enhancements (1)or Consumables here to find your profession. We are picking Blacksmithing (2) as an example, so when you find the blacksmith tab, click. You will go through a load screen, then we are starting to get dirty.(this is the same no matter which prof you have- with the exception that it might be listed under Consumables which you do the exact same thing).

Now on this screen, we are going to decide what we need to craft. Lets use the first item, the Ebonsteel Belt Buckle for an example. We will go down the line and just look

Here is the availability (1) of the item currently in the AH. This will assist you with checking the supply, or more importantly, a quick glance on your current competition for this item. The next line shows materials (2) cost (more on this in a bit). Next line? Price (3). This is where you are going to see what the last item sold for. So right now, at a quick glance, I am seeing around a 270g profit upon sales of this item. Not too bad, huh? Lets skip to Mean (4). This is the average price over the last two weeks. I am more prone to using this price for a price-point when I sell. Now if I have no competition, then I will jack up the price to, on the low end, three times mats cost, and on the high end, five times mats cost. Easy, huh?

Now lets go ahead and click on the Ebonsteel Belt Buckle. Upon doing so, you will see a whole new page load (yeah, loading screen again). I dont utilize the top of the page for info, I use the charts. Scroll down so you see the images (below) both on your page.

As a default setting, TuJ is set up to show you a week of data. If you move your mouse cursor over the image (what looks like mountains) and scroll, you can adjust to get more of a timeframe, but unless you are using this for Darkmoon Cards (or the like) that are more of a monthly fluctuating market, you will only really need a week of data to flow from.

Now lets go over what you are looking at and what you need to know. Market vulnerability. Looking at the top chart, you will see the market price fluctuate (1). This will assist you in looking to see what prices are moving and at what times. When we think back to the first page, we remember that the average price floats around 359g (or Meanremember?). If we are looking for an average sale, then this is where we go. Make sense? Ok. Good.

Now lets glance at the bottom. This shows the quantity available day per day, hour per hour. In a market with fairly even supply and demand, you can flip the bottom picture to the top picture, and the mountains and peaks will follow. For instance, look between Wednesday and Thursday. Supply goes up, price goes down. Now before you think that isnt covering supply and demand, think a bit more broad. Since there are more in the AH at that time, undercutting is happening. Thus, the price drops. *Update! NEW July 28, 2011 TuJ has just updated their site to merge both screens into one. Although this might take a bit getting used to, it does make it easier to navigate. Lets take a look, okie dokie?

Remember how I mentioned that you want to view both at once? Well, now you dont have to go cross-eyed. You can glance at the quantity (1) and the price (2) to better judge your markets. Same rules apply as I mentioned above. I am leaving the old school screens just in case there is a decision to go back to the old way. Whatta nice guy, huh? =)

Since there is a lot of information here, lets drop down to the next set of charts we are going to want to read. Once again, scroll down to where there is a double image, the post activity (1) and the sold volume (2). Now when you are looking at these two charts, I want you to focus on both of them at once. Now due to the movement (posts vs. sales), we can see that basically, whatever is posted, sells. Within reason. What I mean by this is the charts look fairly similar. This means to me, that the items sell daily, often multiple times. How do I know this? The ratio of the blue blocks are basically 1:1. Still dont feel me? That means that most of those that are posted sell. Is that better? Ok. So if you are checking an item and the boxes are very heavy on the posted side compared to sold, say approximately 2:1 or even 5:1, then you can estimate that one sells every two days or five days (respectively) on an average if you are the lowest seller. Still dont get it? Ok, lets drop down the page a bit.

Here we are looking at the recent sales. Who sold them, when they sold them, how much, etc. This will give us a baseline for seeing the market movement on the item we are selling. In this case, we see that

multiple times a day we are seeing sales (now this is in beta, so not 100%, but like I mentioned, it shows a great baseline for information). Keep this in your mind as we go to the next picture. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and the Current Auctions comes up.

Now, trying to protect the names of the innocent here, I fuzzed them out for you, but I had to leave a little to explain. Here, you can see what is currently in the AH (1), the cost (2), who is your competition (3) and when it was posted (4). Now is where it gets fun. Knowing your competition. Who are these guys (3)? What are they doing? Are they an AH goblin? Or did they just level up Blacksmithing? Are they testing the market to see if its viable? Did they buy this guide? We dont know. But lets go over how to find out. 1. Did they just level blacksmithing? Do a check on the armory. Check their achievements. If they just did, then dont worry about them, yet. Keep an eye on them for later. 2. Testing the market? Click on their name, and another screen will pull up to see what else they are selling. If its just BS stuff, see #1. If they have a bunch of things, all over different markets, then we found out this is our competition. 3. No way of telling. Well, not really

Using this tutorial will definitely help you in your quest for gold. Next, I will cover how to check this information in your Auction House. Now TuJ has gone down before, and if it does again (or if you are EU based with no TuJ), then keep reading for part IIThis will cover both US and EU servers. Dont skip over, because I will know if you do.

Ok. So you start of by going to the main page: http://wowtrader.org.uk/index.php.

Are you ready? Good. Under Server Data Reporting (1), you can click the carrot (or dropdown) and choose your destination server and click on the get server data report. Then you will see some wonderful information pop. The total number of uploads, number reported (this will also help to see how many other users are running on this site), and one of my favorite options, most traded items (3). This part is a quick click away from seeing more detail on the big movers and shaker items on your server. Lets dig a bit deeper now.. So you clicked on Hypnotic Dust (1). I cant blame you. Or maybe you didnt, but I am going to use that as an example. Now you will see a nice little chart that will show the average price on the left (2) side of the page, then on the bottom row (3) it explains what date the movement is. Individual Auctions are light circles, and the darker the dot is, the more items at the time. Now you can see the green line running through the page, and that is the trending price or the average price of the item. It seems to be dropping, but hey.so is Obsidium Ore prices, so we see a bit of snowball affect

Looking down the page, there are a few more graphs and pictures that will basically hit a bit more detail on this main chart. Next part we are looking at is the Recent Prices and Historical Data screenie:

Here we have more detail. The first block we will cover is the Recent Prices of Hypnotic Dust (1). We can skip over Total Value, so the next few are max and min buy out prices and the Average price. The last part is the Number for Sale, kinda the same as Total Value, it just adds up everything for you. Below that, you can see Historic[al] data. This is the juicy part. This will give you the minimum price seen (for stockpiling prices), the average price (which is what you would tend to sell for), the Trending Price which is the + or rising or dropping values per day, and the Standard Deviation or price on the item, which in this case is 2.6g fluctuation. The bottom chart, its showing all the data from the top (1 and 2) in a pretty graph for those that like pictures with their data.

The last chart that we are looking at is Long Term Price (1) and Avalability (2) of goods. These are worth the fruits of your labor. This will help assist you in deciding when to buy, when to sell, when the most are up (competition) and when the least are available (resetting the market).

As a quick reference, a Crafting Information box was added for item crafting/pricing quick-look. Its self explanatory, showing mats prices (crafting cost), the cheapest price as last seen on the AH, and profitability even after the AH cut. Nice option there. =)

That should help you understand what chart is what, and what means what on the individual item page. Just like the folks with the US Undermine, things are always changing. Just in this sites first few weeks, they have already gone through some changes, so look forward to some updates from me as I learn more and the site gets more content! Waitit does have more! I just got some insight on some of the upcoming info, bear in mind this isnt live as I am typing it, but you will see these changes soon:

Crafting info- My favorite part of this is The following is crafted using X. A quick check on craftables that use this material for the final product as well as quick links to ease your searching needs. (once again, completely in BETA at the moment).

GOLD MAKING MACHINE! AH-SPY (Both US and EU Servers)

If that isnt enough to trip your trigger (and if Blizzards API programming falls apart), we have just added a new website to help us, AH SPY! Now bear with me, as this site is currently in BETA, but I want to give you all a taste of what you can see right now. I am told that the site is in the works with continuous updates, so keep posted on my blog, or

keep your emails open to watch for any new changes. If you havent read TuJ yet, make sure and read it, as the screens coincide betwix the two, and you wont see me re-explain twice. Currently, you can check out both US and EU realms, both factions, and can search individual items all day long. There isnt a check by profession yet, but I am sure that is in progress as we speak. But for now, you can definitely utilize this site for all your comparison needs. Lets see a few screens: Your main screen is simple, check either EU or US, and find your specific server:

Next, we are going to use Obsidium Ore as an example. Why? First item that came to mind, no specific reason:

Pretty, huh? First, you will see the item you searched for, and the server (1) on the top left of the page. Then, you will get a birds eye view of the ebbs and flows of the market for this item. When looking at the chart (2), you will notice the Average Bid (in blue), the Average Buyout (red line), and the quantity for sale at any given time (the greenish line throughout). On the right (4), you see the Price

per item- in both a 48 hour and a last month setting. This helps in multiple ways, as I covered in the TuJ part of the guide (go check it, as once again, I am not re-writing it). On the bottom of the page, you can check to see what the current prices are, who is selling, and the time left (I love that for the low posted bid price- a few extra gold profit, huh? Das niiice).

GOLD MAKING MACHINE! USING AUCTIONATORS SHOPPING LIST

Here we go. For those that cant use TuJ, this is your guide, for those that do, well, this is a must have/absolute for you as well. . Although I must advise you to read Part I, as there are some great points I hit on there, that will assist you anywaysits okay, scroll up. I will wait here till you are done. Ok, welcome back! Now I am going to cover how to sell your goods (and see day to day sales within the AH) for X item. To use this part of the guide, you need to have an established baseline of Auction House scans through both Auctioneer and Auctionator (see the Add-on series I wrote above). Basically what we are looking to do here is direct focus. In the addons section, I showed you hot to utilize Auctioneer for your flipping item needs, and that is a tremendous feature that has to be done, no matter how many times you log in a day, everytime you hit the AH you need to do that. Pure gold. But what we are focusing on here is finding your niche market. First, lets go over what it takes to make a shopping list in Auctionator. You will need to be in the Buy tab on the Auction House window (1). Next, mouse over to the New Shopping List button (2) and click. A window will pop up (3) asking you to name you new list. Here, you will want to type in Leatherworking/Blacksmithing/Cata Mats (for herbs and ore)/etc. Whatever crafting profession that you have, I would make a list here for quick searching for your items.

Copyright, Legal Notice and Disclaimer: This publication is protected under the US Copyright Act of 1976 and all other applicable international, federal, state and local laws, and all rights are reserved, including resale rights: you are not allowed to give, print, or sell this Guide to anyone else. Now for a few examples, and ease of use for this addon, here you go: In this example, I created a Leatherworking tab (1). After you use the search tab (you can see where my cursor is (savage leather), you can add item (2) and it will filter over to your list (3). Now instead of writing Savage Leather, Savage Leather Scraps, and Heavy Savage Leather (4), I just added savage leather. This way, anything that contains savage leather in the title shows up in the search.

You can see that I also used this for the Bloodied Dragonscale set (1). I didnt have to type in Shoulders, Boots, Gloves, etc (2). This saves getting carpal tunnel later on in life, and its easy to pull up the complete set.

Now comparing this to using the Undermine Journal is like comparing apples to oranges. Here, you do not have the whats in the AH now or what has sold and when like the previous. So you will have to get used to seeing these prices (Now this is my way, as I only use TuJ when I am coaching other folks on gold making). After a bit, you will notice that you know what sells when, and how many are selling, etc. Dont argue with me, you will. You just need to check these daily for a week and you will have a good baseline. Here is a basic shopping list of the items by profession: Leatherworking: Leg Armor Armor Kit Bloodied Dragonscale Bloodied Leather Bloodied Scale Bloodied Wyrmhide Savage Leather (for scraps, savage leather, and heavy pricing) Pristine Hide Blackened Dragonscale

Tailoring: Frostweave Cloth Embersilk Cloth Netherweave Cloth Frostweave Bag Embersilk Bag Netherweave Bag Spellthread Fireweave Emberfire Inscription: Glyph of Ink *any item you craft Silver Inlaid Leaf, Tattooed Eyeball, Notched Jawbone, etc. *you might want to add the Darkmoon Cards as well (winds, waves, stones, embers, etc) Engineering: Scope Yeti Lilsmoky Adamantite Frame

Mining (Yes, mining! Basically used for smelting) Pyrite Ore Obsidium Ore Elementium Ore Titanium Ore Saronite Ore Cobalt Ore

Khorium Ore *Now you might want to add or delete depending on your server- these are just basic examples of what helps in your shopping list and a great way to get you started!

Issues with Undercutting? Heres your How to

We all see it. We all have issues with it. Folks undercutting our auctions. By utilizing Auctionator, you can now do a scan to reset your undercut auctions. Remember that third tab? More.? This is where that little tab comes into play. Lets see some pictures, OK?

When you get on the more tab on the bottom of the page, you can click full scan on the top of the page or start checking on the lower left. Either or works fine to get this addon function working. As you can see with my auctions, there is the red x and the green check which mean that you have X: been undercut and the check means you are okay (no undercutting on that item). Easy huh? It gets better

When you get done with the scan of your list, you will have a window pop up asking you to Start Canceling your auctions.

You will see this window after starting a cancel, and keep clicking till you are done. Then, just hit up your mailbox, grab your items, then back to reposting them. *Remember that this process takes a few minutes to complete. About a minute per hundred is what I average, but you might want to give or take a bit, this is a great time to start the scan and go do something productive, like alt tab over to read my blog or something. =)

GOLD MAKING MACHINE! Profession Breakdowns

Within this chapter, I am going to cover some basic uses (in gold making) for each profession. Note I am not telling you exactly what to craft, but I am covering what are the top selling items for each grouping. Please refer to The Undermine Journal or the Auctionator for searching to see which prices are best in your situation. I want you to remember that these are not server dependent, that these are the best sellers no matter which server you are on. Without further ado, here are my lists:

Leatherworking: PVP Gear- Bloodied sets Leg Armors flipping scraps to heavy to Pristine Hides

Blacksmithing: PVP Gear Belt Buckles Any Enchanting Rods

Tailoring:

Crafted Gear Spellthread Bags

Inscription: Gylphs, glyphs, and more glyphs! Darkmoon Cards Trinkets Flipping Inks Mysterious Fortune Cards Engineering: Pets, Pets, and more Pets! Scopes Crafting mats for other Engineers (frames, Capacitors, casing, etc) Enchanting: Lesser Enchants- Vanilla through Wrath (check undermine or use pricing in Auctionator) Selling Vellums (bought from vendor and flipped) Disenchanting using Auctioneer or tooltips

Jewelcrafting: Do I really need to tell you here? Cut gems =) If you have the high end craftables then craft and sell Prospecting (I am adding a picture here from the Undermine Journal- found under Jewelcrafting)

Alchemy: Transmute or Potion Spec is a must have and this will decide whether you are profitable on either side of the coin. You can normally figure that a 1 in 5 craft will proc 2-5 extra on either spec.

Obviously I am just covering a generic baseline of what to look for in each area or profession. There are many others, you can reference The Undermine Journal for all your profitable needs or use my Auctionator data (or shopping list) to find out specifics for your server. I hope that you have enjoyed my guide, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. As more information and patches become available, I will have mini guides based off the knowledge you have learned here to maximize your gold making entrepreneurship in this little game called WoW. Now I only ask one more thing. Keep me updated on your progress. How are things going? Have you hit your latest goal in game? Did you get that mount yet? Have you done an interview at WoW yet for your gold cap? Keep me in the know, I love to hear success stories!

NEWLY ADDED! 4.2.0 Updates! Well, its been a long time coming folks. We are now seeing 4.2.0. After all the speculation that has been tossed around, we have a few things that we now know. Now these changes are not in any particular order, so do your best to read through the information before you go too much further. I also recommend that you dont skim through, as a few parts, although minor changes, might be the best gold making tip on your particular server. Without further ado, welcome to the 4.2.0 changes. I am sure the first thing that affects a lot of the AH PvPers is the fact that the Obsidium Shuffle has changed drastically: at least the vendor option. Dont fret, as you still have the main use of the shuffle. Crafting your necklaces and rings, disenchanting them, and selling the dusts and essences. But dont forget, you still want to keep an eye out on the profitability factor. Now this is still from 4.1, but I had to leave it in here. One of my favorite changes 4.1.0 is the Rare MobsLoot from the creatures Garr, Julak-Doom, Mobus, Akma'Hat, Xariona, and Poseidus has been adjusted to be commensurate for their rarity and invested effort. (I did a detailed post on these on my blog, you can find it here). http://altosgoldishadvise.blogspot.com/2011/04/part-iv-kinda-new-41-rare-mob_26.html Enchanting- Since all the new gear is floating around with Firelands and the buff with old dungeons receiving a 20% nerf, there will be a lot of need for enchants. Whether we are talking Cata or Wrath level, there is a ton of gold to be made. Post in multiples of two for 48 hours for the best time/gold return. Best bet? If you have done the prereqs for Firelands, you know that you receive an epic cloak, and by god, most folks will need a chant for it. Dont be skeered to use /2 trade to sell them, as sometimes peeps need a reminder! Alchemy- Although there are just minor changes here, you will mos def still post your pots/flasks/elixirs as normal, and whatever you do, do not forget to use up your daily cooldowns on your Truegold and Living Elements.

Jewelcrafting- We have a use now for all those old Amberjewels and Ocean Sapphires that have been sitting in your bank! I358 bands and pendants (Bloodthirsty) have already been flying off the shelves, so make sure you get them on the AH (yes, even the Inferno Ruby crafts, as they are special!). Make sure you get your gem cuts up there as well, as there are plenty of slots for gems that are needing to be filled!

Copyright, Legal Notice and Disclaimer: This publication is protected under the US Copyright Act of 1976 and all other applicable international, federal, state and local laws, and all rights are reserved, including resale rights: you are not allowed to give, print, or sell this Guide to anyone else. Inscription- By all means, dont stop with the glyph market! Also, dont forget to spark up your Northrend Research and get the new one- Glyph of Unleashed Lightning! We also gained a few new craftables, the Bloodthirsty set of course!

Engineering- The big changes here are with completed quests and saving up Marks of The World Tree. (which are gained from daily quests in Firelands).

Schematic: Flintlockes Woodchucker (a Hunter only device) can be obtained only if you have finished the Additional Armament quest and after you save up 125 Marks of the World Tree (and pay 300g). A lot of work for big returns if you are one of the few that get this.

The next one is the Schematic: Extreme-Impact Hole Puncher (an epic ranged DPS gun). Similar to the woodchucker, this needs 125 marks to unlock the vendor, then you can purchase it for 300g from him (Damek Bloombeard).

Tailoring- Now of course you have the upgraded pvp craftables, the Bloodthirsty Embersilk and Fireweave sets (which are purchasable from your vendor) which are i358 armor:

If you received this publication from anyone other than Altos Goldish Advice, you've received a pirated copy. Please contact us via e-mail at support at altosgoldishadvice@gmail.com and notify us of the situation.

You also have the opportunity to buy the Pattern: Luxurious Silk Gem Bag from Ayla Shadowstorm (you need 125 Marks of the World Tree to unlock her) for a slight sum of 300g. Dont forget about your enchants.yes, they will still be selling!

Leatherworking- Here we also have the upgraded pvp craftables, Bloodthirsty Charscale, Dragonscale, Leather, and Wyrmhide. Snatch em up, craft them, and sell them quickly. With an ilvl of 358, they are an upgrade in gear that folks will be looking to purchase! While at the vendor, make sure and pick up the Bloodthirsty Fur/Hide Cloaks as well, and craft away!

I know what you are thinking, whats my Firelands upgrade? Well, you get a new leg enchant (Drakehide Leg Armor- its epic), and two bags, Royal Scribes Satchel and a Triple Reinforced Mining Bag (both need the prereqs of 125 Marks of the World Tree and 300g to purchase).

Dont forget about your other enchants in the meantime, as they are selling quicker than crack on a streetcorner! Blacksmithing- Whats that? We got something too? New craftable PvP gear? You betcha! Bloodthirsty Pyrium and Ornate Pyrium. Upgraded to i358 item level, they are bound to be selling successful on your server. Oh. Yeah. You better be mass-making up some Belt Buckles as well, and keep at least 3-4 up on the AH at all times. Selling five in a day is nothing, as they are moving quick. Make sure that you set a price comparable to triple mats cost (if they are overpriced) and double (if they are underpriced) for a 24-48 hour bid/buyout. Since they sell quickly, price points on these are fairly stable.

Now of course you have all your dropped recipies that will be invading your Auction House, here is a list to keep you on your toes (and if you have a snatch list from TuJ or Auctioneer). Dont hesitate to set one up if you havent already!

Overview
If you follow this guide from top to bottom, I guarantee that you will make gold. Remember a few things: 1. ALWAYS keep items posted in the AH. 2. Once you are in a profitable market, dont leave it. If the profitability drops, then put it on a todo list and come back. Dont forget what made you gold in the past will make gold in the future. 3. Dont worry about undercutting. If you dont have time to cancel and relist your items, dont worry. You will still sell items, but obviously the more you are able keep the lowest price on an item, the better. 4. Track your spending. If you want to be rich in this game, see where your gold goes. See if you can go a week without buying that new epic. Or that mount. Or that pet. Until you are at a safe zone with your funds, only spend your gold on reinvestments to make more profits. 5. ALWAYS flip items. Most anything under the 20% that I mentioned above is a great and consistent market. Just remember that they sometimes take a week of posting before selling. 6. USE YOUR PROFESSIONS! If you forget about one, someone is making the gold in the AH instead of you. Get back to work! You want gold, I know you do, get out and make it! 7. Watch my blog (altosgoldishadvise.blogspot.com) and my blogroll for the latest information on what is happening in the Gold Blogosphere. Keep Informed on what is happening through patch notes, MMOChampion, worldofwarcraft.com, The Consortium, etc. 8. DO YOUR DAILIES! Whether its cooking, jewelcrafting, transmutes, or whathaveyou, dont forget. You are losing a great deal of money by not doing them. 9. GET AN AUTHENTICATOR! I have seen many gold makers in the blogosphere get their accounts hacked. They are simple to use, so get one! 10. HAVE FUN! Playing the AH is just as important as playing in dungeons, doing raids, etc. A lot of time needs to be invested to learn the fight, then before you know it, you will have your AH on farm status!
