    Samyo is the National Indian Music Youth Orchestra. It is a unique phenomenon, as it is the only youth orchestra to combine both North and South Indian music traditions with contemporary orchestral elements, and to showcase brand new compositions, written by some of the world's finest musicians such as Bombay Jayashri, Gaurav Mazumdar, Shashank Subramaniam and Jayanthi Kumaresh. Samyo is the first of its kind in the world of Indian music, presenting a new genre of orchestral Indian music that is both classical and contemporary. The orchestra exists to provide inspirational training and performance opportunities to talented young musicians of all backgrounds under the age of 18, who are trained in Indian classical music. Samyo was founded and is managed by Milapfest. The orchestra is a NYMO (National Youth Music Organisation), supported by a fund from national charity Youth Music, and together with its partners works to bring together talented young musicians at a national level, for inspirational training and advanced performance opportunities. Milapfest is the UK's Indian Arts Development Trust, run by national charity Milap Festival Trust. Milapfest works to promote and support the performance, development and appreciation of Indian arts internationally through inspirational performance, education projects and audience development.

    Samyo is the National Indian Music Youth Orchestra

    Collaborating with leading composers and musicians, Samyos work is characterised by its youthful and fresh approach and especially composed music.

    The Samyo repertoire is constantly evolving as new themes and collaborators join the orchestra and impart their influence, creating a web of creativity that inspires and excites its members.

    Music India is the annual Summer Retreat for the members of Samyo.

    The retreat provides inspirational training and composition work for the students.

    Samyo works with top tutors and composers including Pt Ajoy Chakraborty, Professor T V Gopalakrishnan, Bombay Jayashri, Sanju Sahai, Dharambir Singh, Gaurav Mazumdar, Ganesh & Kumaresh, Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh, Pt Debasish Bhattacharya.
