For a safer today and a Better Tomorrow of Man, Mountain & Nature, HIMANI (Himalayan Man and Nature Institute) was registered as a non- governmental organization under the societies Registration Act, 1860, in year 1995. HIMANI is dedicated to the cause of overall sustainable development of the Himalayas and its people. One of the program of HIMANI is to create sustainable livelihoods by capacity building of communities and initiating income generation activities. To sustain the efforts of Community (organized in Self Help Groups and federations) and build their capacities, HIMTARA (HIMANIs Initiative in Motivational Training and Action for Rural Advancement) was formed as a sister concern of HIMANI society. In a nutshell, HIMTARA is an innovative concept to build the capacities of community and related stakeholders i.e. Non- Governmental Organizations and Government Organizations. HIMTARA provides boarding, lodging and training facilities at reasonable tariff. The center is quite useful for Non- Government Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Training Institutions etc. engaged in Rural Development and Capacity Building Programmes. Any interested organization / person, who understand training need in the mentioned fields or need custom tailored training, can contact us. We assure meaningful effective training to all. HIMTARA has so far organized more than 30 trainings at its own and provided venue of training to other organizations by managing more than 100 trainings and workshops. The training centre is situated at a pleasant centralized location at Bhimtal near Nainital having good network of transport, communication and research & development institutions.
