Two-hour limit for parking

NEW parking restrictions have been introduced in Haverfordwest. Parking along a section of Quay Street and in the Bristol Trader car park is now limited to two hours duration. The restrictions, which have been introduced by Pembrokeshire County Councils traffic management section, are designed to encourage the turnover of space for town shoppers. Free parking is still available from the end of Quay Street to Union Hill, while spaces adjacent to Parade Steps are also unrestricted.

Having a ball to raise cash


POLICE officers went all Venetian recently, when they held a masquerade ball to raise money for local cancer patients. Dyfed-Powys Police officers and staff donated 5,200 to ward ten and the CDU at Withybush Hospital, after Haverfordwest custody officer Racheal Price and PC Claire Coleman organised a masquerade ball at the Wolfscastle Country Hotel, at the end of last year. The ticket-only event included an auction and raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses and artists. Custody officer Racheal Price said: We chose ward ten and the CDU as we all know or have had family, friends and colleagues who have suffered from cancer, and have received amazing support from all the staff. So in doing this event its nice to give something back, and the money will be used to buy items to help patient comfort. PC Claire Coleman said that some of the money was given to ward ten in December, so that Christmas decorations and presents could be bought for the
