1- Read the following passage and answer the following questions based on it : In the fig shown, there are

two identical uniformly dense cubical blocks, each of mass M and of side length d. Each block is kept on a horizontal ground. The first block is on a smooth portion of the ground and the second block is on rough portion. On each block, horizontal force is applied at height d/2 from ground level at middle of the left face. It is seen that the second block does not slip. None of the cubes topple. Mark true /false against following statements regarding : (i) In the first cube the normal reaction of the ground will not produce any torque about COM of the cube. (ii) In the first cube the normal reaction of the ground will have its line of action passing from the COM of the cube. (iii) In the first cube the torque about front bottom edge , due to all forces acting on the cube will be zero. (iv) In the second cube the normal reaction of the ground will not produce any torque about COM of the cube. (v) In the second cube the normal reaction of the ground will have its line of action passing from the COM of the cube. (vi) In the second cube the torque about front bottom edge , due to all forces acting on the cube will be zero. (vii) If the applied force is increased on the first cube, it will not topple for any value of this force. (viii) If the applied force on the second cube is increased, it will topple if the applied force is more than Mg. 2- Fill in the blanks : (i) A uniform rod of length L and mass M is rotating about an axis which is passing from one end and perpendicular to the rod. If the total kinetic energy of the rod is 120 joules, its rotational kinetic energy will be ............. (ii) Two identical spheres , each of mass M but radii R and 2 R respectively , are placed at separation 6R between their centres. The moment of inertia of this system, about a line passing from the COM of the two spheres and perpendicular to the line joining the centres of the spheres , will be .......................... (iii) A force 5 ( i + k ) newton is passing from origin. The coordinates of a point P are ( x =1 m, y = 2 m and z = 3 m). The torque of this force about P is of magnitude ............... (iv) A ring of radius R is rolling on a fixed horizontal flat surface , without slip. At time t =0, a point P of the ring is at the same height as the center of the ring. The displacement of this point P , in the time interval in which the ring completes half cycle , will be ..................

(v) A wheel of mass 2 kg and radius 0.6 m is fixed at its centre. The radius of gyration of the wheel about the center is 0.5 m. To provide angular speed of 2 rad/s, in 4 second, minimum required power is ..................watt.
