MESSAGE
Integrated Disease Surveillance Project is Capable of Collecting Information on incidence of Disease on regular basis, analyzing data and taking control measures has been well established in Banaskantha. This has resulted in Decrease Incidence of Various Communicable Diseases over the last few years.

Timely actions to control Disease based on information provided by the IDSP reduced mortality and morbidity. The effort of our health functionaries in establishing and sustaining the disease surveillance system deserve credit. The annual reports for the Year 2011 On I.D.S.P is a report card of successful implementation which we will work hard to sustain in future.

I wish that the efforts are sustained on long term basis which will be of great help in reducing mortality and to increase longevity of life.

I am glad to release the Annual Report on progress of Integrated Disease Surveillance Project during year 2011 in District Banaskantha. This was made possible due to regular reporting of PHC, CHC, Medical Officer and Hospital Doctors. I am thankful to All BHOs, MOs & Private Doctors who supported the work by regular weekly reporting. I am also thankful to all program officers for working as a Liaison officer for monitoring this program. The general working of the IDSP Staff at DSU Banaskantha is satisfactory I wish to congratulate Dr. N.K. Garg (D.S.O) and all the supporting staff for their efforts in implementing the project at the D.S.U. and hope that we can achieve maximum efficiency ahead. In future we will try our best to fulfill the purpose of IDSP Project by efficient working and also wish to get the proper co operation and co-ordination among all the people related with IDSP Project.

MESSAGE
It gives me immense pleasure to note that performance of Banaskantha is very good for implementation of I.D.S.P. and has received appreciations from state level. A system capable of collecting information on incidence of disease on regular basis, analyzing data and taking control measures has been established in Dist. Banaskantha. I am thankful to C.D.H.O. and all Programme Officers for their support and guidance. I am thankful to all B.H.Os for sending I.D.S.P. reports timely from all P.H.Cs, C.H.Cs, and Hospitals and sub Centers. Without support of B.H.Os it is impossible to make reporting of I.D.S.P. 100%. I am also thankful to any supporting staff and all technical staff of health and malaria branch for their technical advice and support to I.D.S.P. I wish to congratulate Data Manager and Data Entry Operator of I.D.S.P. Banaskantha for their efforts in implementing the project, timely preparing very effective alert and giving feedback to all level. I am glad to inform that because of better implementation of I.D.S.P. our district did not face any major epidemic from last three Years.

A SMALL LEAF TO PRAISE HARD-WORK

I feel extremely glad to prepare & release this first ever annual report 2011 of Integrated Disease Surveillance Project for the Banaskantha District. This Annual Report might not possible to blind up with plenty of data within short time without DSU Staffs hard efforts. This has been in reality due to DSU staffs capacity of analyzing the data and collecting weekly Surveillance data from reporting units. Special Thanks go to Shri B. J. Bhatt(IAS) District Development Officer, Dr. A. H. Acharya(CDHO), and Dr. N. K. Garg(EMO/DSO) who helped us by giving precious suggestions at each & every curvy step. Our DSU staffs job is often a thankless task so I take the opportunity to express our thanks to whole DSU Staff.
