Turkey
John Zinks state-of-the-art environmental solutions play a vital role in a multi-national crude oil pipeline project in Turkey, where our vapor control technology will safely collect and manage hydrocarbon vapors generated during the supertanker loading process. John Zinks vapor control system will help the plant achieve its goals of reduced emissions and environmental excellence, and is one of the largest systems of its kind in the world.

Brazil
John Zinks ability to provide single-source plant solutions in combustion and environmental systems brings outstanding value to industry leaders. When one of Latin Americas largest energy companies needed to reduce emissions from incinerators in six refineries, John Zink developed a multi-tiered solution that included operations surveys, the latest incinerator technology with a 99.9 percent destruction rate, local field expertise, on-site training and education, and a responsiveness that established a technology alliance between the two companies.

Nigeria
When an energy company planned to install a reliable, smokeless flare system at one of its production plants, it selected John Zinks advanced flare technology. The production plant had experienced numerous flare tip repairs and smoking. John Zink recommended the installation of two large low-pressure, air-assisted flares to serve as primary and duplicate backup systems. The solution exceeded the clients expectations of improved operations.

Texas
The United States of America Designing a technology to meet tough environmental challenges takes time, teamwork and tenacity. When a large petrochemical company needed to dramatically lower emissions in two of its Texas ethylene plants, John Zink combined its engineering expertise with CFD modeling and in-house testing to develop a combustion solution that has achieved emissions levels as low as 25 ppm on average. John Zinks lean premix burner, with a combination of U.S. and foreign patented COOLmix and remote fuel-staging technologies, has reduced heater emissions by 80 percent in both ethylene plants, and eliminated the need for expensive post-combustion treatment.

Peoples Republic of China

John Zink is world renowned for taking on challenges unique in scope and scale with practical innovation that returns long-term value. This philosophy is exemplified in China, where John Zink combined combustion expertise, flare innovation and local resources to introduce next-generation flare technology inside the worlds most highly optimized petrochemical facility. With a capacity of more than 2,600 metric tons per hour, John Zinks fence-enclosed ground flare is the first of its kind in China, and one of the largest flare systems of its kind in the world.

Delaware
The United States of America When a refinery needed to reduce emissions on one of its power boilers to achieve regulatory compliance, John Zink developed a customized NOx-reduction solution for installation on the refinerys 500,000 pound per hour Turbo boiler. John Zinks U.S. and foreign patented COOLfuel burner technology met the required emissions limits, allowing the refinery to pass compliance testing, and eliminating the need for expensive post-combustion treatment.

Republic of Kazakhstan
Global grassroots projects require a team of experts who share a commitment to solving the toughest challenges on the largest scale. During the planning stages to construct a sour gas plant in the Republic of Kazakhstan, John Zinks advanced flaring technology was selected. John Zinks demountable flare system is designed to flare 2,000 metric tons per hour of sour gas and will stand as one of the largest flares ever built.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

John Zink demonstrated exceptional value at an ethylene plant in Saudi Arabia. The client struggled with short run lengths in its furnaces that seriously decreased productivity. As a solution, John Zink offered new radiant wall burners specifically designed to improve heat flux distribution. The result dramatic improvements increasing the heaters run lengths from seven days to more than 45 days.

Greece
Stricter environmental regulations and changing attitudes about ecological responsibility have led industries around the world to employ John Zinks flare gas recovery systems in their operations. For a refinery in Athens, John Zinks flare gas recovery system captures an estimated one ton per hour of vapor, which is then recycled as fuel and used to power the refinery heaters and other processes. Outside energy sources are no longer required for plant operations, thus reducing energy costs for operations. The elimination of hydrocarbon flaring provides a secondary benefit of environmental preservation.

California
The United States of America Customer collaborations to improve low-emission technologies pave an exciting new path for John Zink. When one of our customers launched a sweeping environmental initiative to lower NOx from its California refinery, John Zink teamed with the plants own problem-solvers to install, retrofit and adapt John Zinks ultra low-NOx burners with U.S. and foreign patented COOLmix and COOLfuel technologies, into the refinerys crude heaters, power boilers and hydrogen reformers. Applying John Zinks low-NOx technologies throughout the refinery proved to be an exceptional solution, achieving dramatically low emissions and eliminating the need for expensive post-combustion treatment.
