During Lent, as we focus on Christs journey to the cross, lets also examine the journey of our lives. The first task when leaving on any adventure is packing. What have you placed in your bag? Are you weighed down with temptations, self-doubt, money worries, relationship troubles? Have you overlooked any important items? Maybe your bag feels too empty for the challenges ahead. Remember to pack mercy, grace and forgiveness. Thanks to Easter, we know that our journey in Christ continues, even when the road becomes dicult. So as you prepare for Lent, carry with you the hope made possible by Jesus sacrifice on our behalf.

OuR MISSION FA M I Ly u p D AT E
The Pedersens are finally in Bonaire and are settling in. After arriving September 24, 2011 they stayed in a TWR guesthouse until the additions to their house were finished and their container arrived (intact!!). They are hoping to finish the extra room so they can get the last 60 boxes unpacked. Mari has been learning her way around the grocery shops and Joshua is seeing a therapist weekly to continue his progress with spina bifida and scoliosis. They will be travelling to North Carolina in January and July for his regular check-ups. The broadcasts are reaching a great many people in the Caribbean and Latin American region, including Cuba. A listener from Cuba wrote to Dave My conversion to Christ was as a result of the programs from RTM (aka TWR). Brothers, continue sending me the notes & outlines, which have been a great help to me. Praise God for his safe delivery of this family and their belongings to Bonaire and for the success of their work so far in His name. To contact the Pedersens: dpedersen@twr.org or mpedersen@twr.org Address: EEG Blvd 87, Belnem, Bonaire; CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS

O N E H O u S E AT A T I M E BEDS FOR KIDS

No child should have to sleep on the floor. But in Philadelphia, thousands of children go to bed every night without proper bedding. Thats why One House at a Time (OHAAT) brings beds, sheets and blankets to children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor. Our Beds for Kids program has helped over 2,500 children get the sleep they need to be healthier and better prepared to face every days challenges. How you can help: # Donate new or gently used twin sheets and blankets (and twin bed frames)! (All donations should go to Jean Graber.) Know how to sew? Get together with your friends, coworkers or kids, and make pillow cases. Dont know how to sew? Anyone can make a no-sew blanket! All you need is fleece fabric and a pair scissors. Its a great activity for Boy and Girl Scout troops and youth groups. # Help with a delivery! Come as an individual or with a group. Well meet at our storage facility in Huntingdon Valley and load OHAATs truck full of beds, sheets and blankets. Then well deliver the items to several homes of children in need. # Support us through Escrip donate your used cell phones, toner, and inkjets. There is a collection box in the mission center by the lobby.

JANuARy 15TH HAND CHIME CHOIR

Our member & friend, Bill Baird, has generously donated money to purchase new hand chimes in memory of his wife, Barbara. The 2 octaves of chimes will be used primarily by the children at Jarrettown UMC. This is a blessing to the church as was Barbara. Barbaras many gifts were appreciated by all ages at Jarrettown. Her gift of organization and heart for mission were well used in the many childrens programs, mission projects and family activities she created and carried out with the help of her many recruited friends. On January 15th we plan to play the chimes for the first time during the 11 am worship service.
