Explain how the Americans pacify the Filipinos.

Give example All attempts of rebellion against Americans and any plans connected to it were stopped early as possible. They put fear in every Filipinos by establishing some laws which contained heavy punishments for those who will fail to comply. The good effects of American occupation were improvements in the standards of living of the Filipinos, being globally competent in terms of fluency and wellsounded speakers of the English language, and quality life service of health care. The negative effects were we developed liking of stateside things and partial loss of the racial heritage of the Filipinos. The best effect is the introduction of education because it increased our literacy in earlier times. The worst effect was the Filipinos became colonial minded wherein they imitate the American way of living which killed

the local industry and have been troubled by questions of national identity. 4. Give reasons why the Japanese came to the Philippines. How did the Filipinos react to Japanese occupation, why? And give results of such occupation. Identify the best and worst result. Why? They need raw materials to fuel their industry. Because of poor natural resources, Japan must import materials needed to create weapons for war. They need territories to accommodate its excess population. The geographical size cannot accommodate the increasing number of population, thus some must vacate Japan. They must undergo expansion for industrialization. They do not have enough investments to compete with the Western Power. They want to be the leader of Asian nations. To maximize their power. Feudal agriculture had not been liquidated. Because of high cost of products sold by the capitalist, the peasants cannot afford to buy goods. So, as a result, the capitalist must look for a market abroad to sell their products. Japanese occupation resulted to economic hardships, social and moral breakdown. The worst effect of Japanese occupation is the moral breakdown of Filipinos specifically the issue of sex-slaves of the Filipino women by the Japanese soldiers. It took the dignity of the women and there were times that they were killed after a successful performance. Through this, they look at the Filipinas as comfort women and the morale of our country vanished. 5. Explain the important role played by the Filipinos in the Japanese loss in World War 2. 1. Some Filipino officers organized Guerrilla groups. These groups harassed and killed Japanese troops and sabotaged Japanese war efforts. 2. The Guerrillas gathered information about Japanese movements, strengths, weaknesses, and other activities and sent these to the American headquarters in Australia. 3.
