JUSTIFICATION Acute pain due to abdominal hysterectomy, it is associated with more pain, more blood loss, longer hospital stay, and longer recovery period than the minimally invasive alternatives: laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy. You may feel a kind of burning pain at the site of abdominal skin incision, this pain is worse when you get out of bed or change in position. You may feel pain in tissues deep beneath the skin. The patient ultimate susceptibility to infection is influenced by factors inherent to the host, factors related to treatment, and factors associated with the malignant process. The most serious type of infection after hysterectomy is vaginal cuff infection. The cuff, created from the vaginal vault when the uterus is removed, is virtually always contaminated with the vaginal flora and highly susceptible to postoperative infection. Vaginal cuff are more frequent after vaginal hysterectomy, but can also occur after abdominal hysterectomy.
