The day started slow for the both of us since the headmaster will not be coming in for the day; that means we have to wait for the GPK 1 (Mr. Xavier) instead of the head of school himself. The early meeting set up by the kind lady at the office however had to be postponed until 11 a.m. due to an unforeseen circumstance. At 11, the meeting went on well. We discussed our schedule/work table for the first week and with the present of our guidance teacher Mrs. Zuriati, we also discussed our class timetable for the next 11 week of our practicum. Then we had a brief tour of the school which proved great help in finding my classes. Studying the given class timetables I found out a few clashes between the periods of my two class and other minor problems. As a result of this, I need to consult with the guidance teacher and my supervisor regarding the problems. Overall the day went on smoothly.

07/07/2010 The original plan for today according to the weekly schedule is to observe an ongoing English class. However, due to some problems, I didnt manage to observe a class mainly because the English teacher I was supposed to observe was not currently in good health. Despite that problem, I did manage to sit down with the teacher and had a little discussion regarding her class that Im taking over. We discussed the types and level of the students that Ill be facing and also a few good tips on how to handle them. She also pointed me to the next unit of lesson and we discussed on how I should start my first class and had given me a lot of helps and advices. The discussion is going to be very helpful as it is preparing me for the weeks to come.

08/07/2010 Today is another rather slow day for the both of us. Both of my preplanned class observation has been canceled at the very last minute and I have to admit that I feel a bit disappointed because today is the only day left for me to have the change to observe a class. Observing a class would help me a lot especially getting to know the students and the classroom that I will be working in. The day was then spent with writing and finishing up my journal as well as discussing and planning my next lesson. Towards the end of the school time; I somehow managed to catch a conversation with a couple of the teacher and I grabbed that opportunity to ask them a few questions especially regarding where and how can I get the materials from the school and particularly the procedures needed to ask for them. During the final hour, our supervisor came and we had a little meeting with the GPK 1 and the cooperative teacher regarding our practicum. All the problem concerning my timetables seems to be taken care of and we also discussed on the day we should have our lesson observed.

09/07/2010 Honestly nothing actually happen today. I have missed my chances to observe a class yesterday and todays time basically was spent by writing our journal and thinking on how to start our class next week. I met my cooperating teacher and ask her few questions about my classes and to get the last word on starting to teach next week. I was advice to be calm and try not to put too many lessons or activities in a day lesson. And when final bell rang I reflected that I am about 80% ready for next week and cant wait to start teaching.
