Pray through Gods Story (Week 6)

Focus on God
Our God is Yahweh, the God of the covenant. God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And he said, Say this to the people of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. God also said to Moses, Say this to the people of Israel, The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. (Exodus 3:14-15) Our God is mighty to judge and mighty to save, so he is worthy of praise. I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my fathers God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name. (Exodus 15:1-3)

Respond from the Heart

Repent of the times you lack faith in God by complaining about lack of basic needs. Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, Give us water to drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord? But the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moses. (Exodus 17:2-3)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray for the church that we will show our unique calling to the world and mediate Gods blessings to other people and other nations. You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel. (Exodus 19:4-6) Pray for our family members who are idol-worshippers, that the curse of idol-worship will be broken through us. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a carved imagefor I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:2-6)

Present Your Requests

In what areas of your life and ministry you needed help today? Ask God for help with the confidence that he will hear and come to our aid. During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the people of Israeland God knew. (Exodus 2:23-25)

Close in Celebration
Thank God for rescuing us from the slavery of sin through the blood of Jesus. The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of 430 years, on that very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt. (Exodus 12:40-41)
