The musical Cory ng Edsa tells about the story of Edsa and the mother of democracy Cory Aquino

o through the times of People power in the vision of a reporter named Peter. Through his cover of Corys life he met his good friend Rey and Jason. Eventually through his friends he met his love interest Leslie who is the sister of Rey. The story portrays three sorrowful love stories whom intertwined by Cory Aquino from her fight for democracy, victory of her presidency, to her painful death that reunited every character at the end of the musical. The musical was directed by Vincent Taada whom also played the role of young Peter. The presentation of the musical was smooth even though it was delayed for few minutes. The story line is unique and was connected to the main point which is how Cory has affected the life of the Filipino people from her time of reign until the she reach the last hour of her life. It was a realistic and mind blowing performance from the cast. The musical was very interesting and helpful for those who studies the life of Cory Aquino for the musical shows clear and real events from Corys Timeline.

Maria Corazon Sumulong Cojuangco-Aquino or commonly known as President Cory Aquino was born on January 25, 1933. She was the sixth child of Jose Cojuanco and Demetria Sumulong of Paniqui Tarlac. She entered an all girls Catholic School( Saint Scholastica's College) and graduated from College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York. She studied law at Far Eastern University for a year. Cory as a student excelled at school. She has good grades at Mathematics and also receive honors. She is simple and very thrifty. She will always choose to wear her older sisters hand down clothes than getting a new one. She is simple and unassuming.

On March 24, 2008, the Aquino family announced that she had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and on August 1, 2009, the 76-year-old Aquino died peacefully at the Makati Medical Center at 3:18 a.m., of cardiorespiratory arrest

Cory married the grandson of Gen. Servillano Aquino, Benigno NINOY Aquino, a political figure from Concepcion Tarlac. They produced five successful public figures; one boy and Four Girls named : Maria Elena "Ballsy" Aquino Cruz (born August 18, 1955), Aurora Corazon "Pinky" Aquino Abellada (born December 27, 1957),Philippine President Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino, III (born February 8, 1960), Victoria Elisa "Viel" Aquino Dee (born October 27, 1961) and Kristina Bernadette "Kris" Aquino Yap (born February 14, 1971). As a mother Cory is very caring and loving to her children. She is also a supportive wife to her husband Ninoy. She accomplished her responsibilities as a wife and a mother. She is the framework of the courage of Ninoy to run and serve the nation through their times. She maintain her selflessness in the sake of her family.

After the death of her husband, Cory decided to run for presidency in the year 1983 trough the push of her husbands party. She fights against Ferdinand Marcos and won over him through a snap election.

Cory is the person behind the people power at Edsa. The most peaceful revolution happened in the history of the Philippines. She as the first woman leader and eleventh president of the country did her duties to the nation. She abolished the 1973 Constitution that was in force during martial law, and instead promulgated the provisional 1986 Freedom Constitution, pending the ratification of a new Constitution by the people. This allowed Aquino to exercise both executive and legislative powers until the ratification of the new Philippine Constitution and the establishment of a new Congress in 1987. She tackled the issues that are in need of action, which includes economic management, agrarian reform, natural disasters and calamities and many more. On June 30, 1992, President Aquino formally and peacefully handed over power to her anointed candidate and democratically elected General Fidel Ramos, after six years of hard-fought democratic transition and restoration. This did not end her love and motive to still help the Filipino nation. She continued to help the poor and in need. She becomes more active in church and charitable events.
