MELLER laying batteries are available in 2 - 12-tier execution, with fully automatic egg collecting devices, perfect drinking systems, different feeding systems such as HA-matic or VOmatic feed carrier or chain feeding, with manure removal belt and optional manure driving system. Technical solutions thought out to the very last detail, selection of only the most suitable materials and the famous MELLER quality workmanship guarantee reliable operation and long operating life.

Variations of equipment
Playing cage Two stainless steel nipple drinkers combined with a V-shaped trough gutter for spray water are installed in each double cage. Wire gauge and spacing, and the slope angle of the fully galvanized egg shoots are also adapted to EC guidelines and the requirements of the laying hens. This patented doors allow easy access to the cages. Feeding system Optional the system could be configured with feeding chain, feeding auger, HA-matic or VO-matic feed carrier. All functions of the feeding systems could be automized by hook up in conjunction with automatic timer. By feeding with feed chain or auger feeding for each tier is possible. Manure drying A large volume air duct with drilled holes acting as air jets, is located in the centre of the double cage. The special shape of the MELLER air channel ensures maximum drying of the manure on manure removal belts. Drives for manure belt The p.p.-manure belts are driven by gear motors, whose power is adapted to the length of the system. The manure drive rollers are runing in maintenance-free PVC-bearings. The manure removal belts are cleaned by manure scrapers, which are resiliently pressed onto the belts. The drives are designed to allow the manure removal of batteries with a total length up to 140 meters. Battery header unit The header unit at the battery accommodate the clamping devices for the guide rolls of the manure removal belts and float boxes or pressure regulators for the nipple drinkers. Inboard Vscrapers cleans the manure removal belts inside. If feed carriers are used the header unit also serve as a parking place fort he feed carriers.
