COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is the first of three courses designed to provide students with classroom and laboratory experience with advanced routing protocols and prepare them to successfully complete the CCNP: ROUTE exam.

Students are not allowed to record classroom lectures (audio and/or video) without prior permission of the instructor and consent of all students in the class.

College enrollment assumes that the student has the maturity, seriousness of purpose, and the self-discipline required for meeting the responsibilities associated with this course. Students are expected to attend each meeting of the course. Under no circumstances will an absence excuse the student from completing all work assigned.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY:


You are expected to have read and understood the current issue of the student handbook (published by Student Services) regarding student responsibilities and rights, the intellectual property policy, for information about procedures, and about what constitutes acceptable on-campus behavior.

CLASS PREPARATION:
The course consists of outside reading, lecture, and laboratory experiments (may include case studies). It is essential that you complete reading assignments, and review (and download from my web page) the scheduled labs before class. Class time will be reserved for lecture & lab practice.

EXAM/LAB EXPERIMENT POLICY:


All EXAMS & LABs are to be completed by 6pm, Tuesday of the week following the assigned week. Late completion will incur a penalty of 10% per week with a maximum penalty of 30% for each late completion. All past due items must be completed by the last class date at end of semester or they will receive a grade of ZERO for the uncompleted items. Exceptions may be made for Military Personnel on TDY or students with a verifiable medical emergency that precluded their completing the exam/lab on time. Chapter exams are completed on-line outside of the classroom. The course "Final" on-line exam is completed in class on the date indicated and is a "Closed Book exam. The end-of-course Skills Based Assessment (SBA) exam will allow use of hand-written notes and/or the CCNP ROUTE Portable Command Guide only. This is a hands-on practical exam.
