Wermacht [Defense Force] it was the unified armed forces of Germany from 1935 to 1945. It
consisted of the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force).

Kriegsmarine [War Navy] German Navy during the Nazi regime (19351945). It
superseded the Reichsmarine and the Marine of World War I.

SS (SchutzStaffel) or Waffen-SS [Armed SS] [Protection Squadron] abbreviated SS

or with stylized "Armanen" Sig runes was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. And it protected Adolf Hitler. The Waffen-SS was a multi-ethnic and multi-national military force of the Third Reich. It constituted the armed wing of the Schutzstaffel. It was Adolf Hitler's will that the Waffen-SS never be integrated into the army. It was to remain the armed wing of the Party and to become an elite police force once the war was won.

SA SturmAbteilung [Storm Division or Batallion] abbreviated SA and usually translated as

stormtroop(er)s, functioned as a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party. SA men were often called "brownshirts" for the

color of their uniforms. The SA was also the first Nazi paramilitary group to develop pseudo-military titles for bestowal upon its members. The SA ranks were adopted by several other Nazi Party groups, chief amongst them the SS, itself originally a branch of the SA. The SA became largely irrelevant after Adolf Hitler ordered the "Blood Purge" of 1934. This event became known as the Night of the Long Knives. After it occurred, the SA was effectively superseded by the SS, though never formally dissolved.

RAD Reichsarbeitsdienst [Reich Labor Service] institution established by Nazi

Germany as an agency to reduce unemployment.

Hitler-Jugend [Hitlers Youth] a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party. It existed from 1922 to 1945. The HJ was the second oldest paramilitary Nazi group.

DJ or Deutsches Jungvolk [German Youth] A subdivision of the Hitler Youth for boys
aged 10 to 14. It reinforced the National Socialist view of Aryan ideals and transmitted the Nazi idea of the Volksgemeinschaft (national or people's community). It emphasized the teaching of loyalty to Hitler and the regime, and it sponsored youth activity to reinforce the importance of male physical strength, vitality, and militarism at a very young age. They were devoted to the Nazi thoughts and they wore scarves. Parents could send their children to become members of the organization up to the age of fourteen. The Nazis believed that teaching children how to become tough would free them from their weaknesses. It showed anti-Semitism through indoctrination.

BDM Bund Deutscher Mdel [League of German Girls or League of German Maidens] the female branch of the overall Nazi party youth movement, the Hitler Youth. It was the only female
youth organization in Nazi Germany.

JungMdel or Jungmdelbund [Young Girl's League] was the section of the

Hitler Youth for girls between the ages of 10 and 14.

NSDAP Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei [National Socialist German Workers' Party] commonly known in English as the Nazi Party (from the German Nazi, abbreviated from the pronunciation
of Nationalsozialist), was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) prior to a change of name in 1920.
