CAC Check List

1. CAC Checks during VT and Queue Activation/Modifications:

1.1.

Check on VT Committed Rate Modification: User is not allowed to change CIR of default VT CIR with Null value is not allowed to enter by the user. CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state. Sum of all active VT CIR should be up to Port Rate.

Aggregation criteria should be different from ANY. VT committed Rate should be less than or equal to its PIR when shaping is enabled. Sum of WFQ CIR should be less than or equal to new VT CIR. 1.2.
Check on VT Peak Rate Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state

VT committed rate should be less than or equal to new Peak Rate. VT Peak Rate is less than or equal to Interface/Port Rate (VTPIR <= Port Rate). When shaping is already enabled on VT, then new VT PIR should be greater than or
equal to all the associated queue PIR whose shaping is enabled

Hardware will be updated with new PIR only when shaping is enabled. 1.3.
Check on VT Shaping Flag Peak Rate Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state

No validation is performed during shaper is disabled. When shaping is enabled, then the VT PIR is checked against all the associated queue
PIR whose shaping is enabled (VT PIR >= Queue PIR)

1.4.

Check on Row status Activation/Deactivation:

User is not allowed to activate or deactivate the default VT. On a service aware VT, same operation whether VT activation (or) deactivation is not
allowed for the second time. Sum of all active VT CIR should be up to Port Rate.

CAC Check List

Default VT CIR should be greater than the VT CIR of newly activating VT. VT PIR should be greater than or equal to VT CIR of newly activating VT.
During a service aware VT activation, all the above mentioned CAC Checks will be performed sequentially. No service aware VT will be allowed to be de-activated if it is associated with a service i.e., when VT reference number is NOT equal to zero. On deactivation, VT to Port map is been deleted with committed Rate and peak rate are updated with zero in the hardware(updating with CIR = PIR = 0 in the hardware will not impact with non zero values as we are loosing the VT to Port Map)

2. CAC Checks during Queue parameter Modifications 2.1.

Check on VT Queue Committed Rate Modification:

CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state. Check whether sum of Queue (WFQ) CIR + SP PIR (Shaping Enable) is less the VT CIR. WFQ Queue CIR should be less than or equal to its PIR when shaping is enabled. 2.2.
Check on VT Queue Peak Rate Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state.

WFQ Queue PIR should be greater than or equal to its CIR when shaping is enabled. Check if New Queue PIR is less than or equal to VT Peak Rate when VT shaping is enabled. Port Rate when VT shaping is disabled.

Check whether sum of Queue (WFQ) CIR + SP PIR (Shaping Enable) is less the VT CIR
when peak rate is modified and shaping enabled on SP Queues

2.3.

Checks on VT Queue Shaping Flag Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state.

If the VT Queue shaping flag is enable Queue PIR should be less than or equal to VT PIR when VT shaping is enabled. Queue PIR should be less than or equal to Port Rate when VT shaping is disabled WFQ Queue PIR should be greater than or equal to it's CIR

CAC Check List

Check Sum of Queue(WFQ) CIR + SP PIR (Shaping Enable) is less the VT CIR if shaping is been enabled on SP queues

If the VT Queue shaping flag is disabled, No CAC check will be performed.

2.4.

Check on VT Queue CQS Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state.

Sum of all queue Committed Queue size should be less than or equal to available Queue
Memory

2.5.

Check on VT Queue EQS Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state.

Newly updating EQS value should be less than or equal to available Queue Memory. 2.6.
Check on VT Queue profile Modification: CAC Check will be performed only when the respective VT is in active state.

Check to see whether the newly updating queue Profile is already created and in active
state.

Note: All CAC Check on any of the VT and Queue parameters are applicable if and only if the respective Virtual Transport (VT) is in active state. For a PP1GE Card there will be port Id ranging from (1-10) with each port associating with 409 VT ranging from (0-408) For a PP10GE Card there will be only one port (Port Id = 1) associating with 4096 VT ranging from (0-4095) All the below CAC checks will be performed in a sequential manner when the VT is being activated.
