EditorialChangestoEvaluationForm (refertoattachment#3forcopyof20112012form) Theevaluationformitselfhasbeenupdatedtoincludeadditionalemphasison3person crews,whilestillallowingtheformtoworkfor2personcrews.Thesechangesbringthe formcurrenttotodaysstandardofofficiatingwithrespecttopointsofemphasis, mechanics,andrules. Thescoringsystemhasbeenrevisedtoreflectaphilosophicalchangeinscoring.The followingarethekeyelements: Overallscoringremainsthesame0100. Therearefive(5)scoringranges.Theserangesrepresenttheoverallofficiatedgame byeachofficial.Itwillbetheresponsibilityoftheevaluatortochecktheboxthatthey believemostaccuratelyreflectstheevaluation,andmustbedoneatthetimethe evaluationoccurs. Anevaluator(VarsityorPaid)MAYchecktwoadjacentboxesiftheyfeelanofficial thatanofficialsscoremayrestbeineitherbox.(Maximumof2boxeschecked)The evaluatorcanscoretoanywholenumberwithinthatrange,butcannotchangethe rangeoncetheevaluationhasbeengiventotheofficial. VarsityandRegisteredOfficialsList(refertoattachment#5locatedattheendofthis manual) TheevaluationAtthecompletionofeachschoolseason,andafteralloftheevaluations havebeenscoredandinterpolated,theEvaluationsChairpersonwillcompiletwo rankedofficialslists: VarsityList:Thisrankedlistwillconsistofallvarsityofficialsrankednumericallybased oninterpolatedscore.Thislistwillbeutilizedaccordinglybytheassignorforthe purposesofassigningplayoff,regionalandstateassignments, RegisteredList:Thisrankedlistwillconsistofallregisteredofficialswhoreceiveda minimumof8evaluationsduringtheseason,andrankednumericallybasedon interpolatedscore. Entering Evaluation Scores Forthe20112012season,thePNBOAwillbeusingArbiter(www.arbiter.com)totrack andenterevaluationscores. Apprentice Evaluations Althoughapprenticesarenotscoredasapartoftheevaluationprocess,theBoardof Directorsbelievesitisimportanttoensureapprenticesarefamiliarwiththeprocessas theyadvancethroughtheorganization,andencouragesallvarsityofficialstoprovidean evaluationontheproperform.
