National service is a programme for teenagers that implemented by government.

This programme is made for after school students, that is 17 years old. They are selected randomly by government after their SPM examination. National service should be made compulsory for all teenagers to instil patriotism, to encourage the spirit of cooperation and to become more independent. National service can help students to instil patriotism in their self. Patriotism is a spirit to show our love to our own country. Most of people think that patriotism is not important for them. This is because not all teenagers will be selected for this programme. 40% of this national service is about history of the country, sovereighty and national dignity, which can help them to instil patriotism. In additon, national service help youth to encourage the spirit of cooperation with each other. 40% of the training covers the activities of mutual cooperation, community projects, recycling campaigns and others. These activites can help participants to inculcate the spirit of cooperation. They will jointly complete the task given ang thus bridge the relationship between them. National service also help teenagers to become more independent. 20% of the natinal service training includes survival activites, jungle tracking and so on. This activites awareness public about importance to be independent in our life. For example, when they are in national service, they have to rely on their own without the help of family and friends. In a conclusion, this national service programme provides many benefits to teenagers in our country. Therefore, the government should make it compulsory to all teenagers.
