201207 Dated 20 February 2012 TO: Loyola Schools Student Body FROM: Ateneo Commission on Elections RE: Official Results of the 2012 Sanggunian General Elections According to Article XI, Section 1 of the Amended Electoral Code 2011, "The elections shall be declared valid only if at least 50% + 1 (rounded up to the nearest whole number) of the constituency has cast their votes." In this case, seniors and superseniors shall be excluded from the computation of quota, but their votes will be considered in the validation of elections and tallying of votes. Also, according to Article XIII, Section 1 of the Amended Electoral Code 2011, "In order for a particular candidate to win a position, the number of votes for him/her should be greater than the number of abstentions as well as the number of votes for each of his/her opponents, should he/she have any."
