Planning Identify basic SAP system parameters i.e. SAP & Database SID and Instance Number Check the hardware and software requirements Check and download the required installation media on SAP service marketplace Download the target support package stack
Preparation Create Operating System users and groups Setup File Systems Check for mounting/local transport directory Download the JCE Policy Zip file Generate the SAP Solution Manager Key using transaction SMSY Prepare System for sapinst: Check/Install required jdk version
Installation Steps
Preparation for SAPinst Log on to Windows desktop and start Xmanager/similar tool. Click on Start->Programs->XManager>XManager Passive Set DISPLAY environment variable for SAPInst GUI and check it using xclock command Export DISPLAY=<I.P. Address>:0.0
Select Software units required for NWDI installation Select As Java and DI
Provide required inputs to SAPinst Provide the path for Java Component Media
Enter the Username and password for database connect and SAP administrator
Enter the password for database administrator and Java database connect user.
Select the database communication ports if the default ones are already used.
Select the checkbox Prepare SAP System for NWDI Integration and click Next.
Start Installation

The Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) is used for applying Support Packages to SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java (AS Java) and all Java-based software components running on it. JSPM is able to update all integral parts of a Java system or a Java stack of a dual-stack system, which includes:
a) JSPM itself b) SAP Kernel and SAP IGS c) All Java-based usage types installed in the system d) Software Deployment Manager (SDM) - the deployment service of the system
Procedure Download the required latest support pack stack & kernel with stack definition XML file. Move the downloaded support packages to EPS inbox Start JSPM after setting the DISPLAY environment cd /usr/sap/<SID>/JC14/j2ee/JSPM ./go Enter your SDM password to log on to the SDM
On the Deployment tab page, select the Java Support Package Manager option and update the software component sap.com/JSPM to the target SPS level. Restart the JSPM and log on with the SDM password.
After updating JSPM patch, restart the JSPM and log on with the SDM password. On the Deployment tab page, select the Support and Enhancement Package Stack option and choose Next.
Procedure
In the Visual Administrator choose Server 0 Services Licensing Adapter. The system data that you need to request the license from the SAP Service Marketplace appears. Installation number (if it exists) System ID, System number (if it exists) Hardware key Current release
a) b) c) d) e)
Under the Internet address service.sap.com mySAP Business Suite, you can get to the initial page of the license key requests in SAP Service Marketplace. Here you will find all the information you need to request license keys. Enter your e-mail address in the request. The license key will be sent to you promptly by e-mail. Alternatively, you can also download the license key from the SAP Service Marketplace.
Do not make any changes to the license key. To import the license key, the file must not have been changed. In the Licensing Adapter in the Visual Administrator choose Install License from File.
Perform Initial Java Configuration Create a second administrator user (e.g. j2ee_admin) by copying the standard administrator user
When a Java instance is installed or an additional server process is created, AS Java assigns default values to the communication ports. If some of these ports are being used by another program, then manually assign a different value to the relevant port. If necessary, change the assigned join port of a server process, on which the server process listens for connections (for example, when the port assigned to the cluster element is already in use by another program).
Check the Java Virtual Machine (Java VM) settings Check the recommendations for Java VM Memory Settings in SAP Note 723909.
Make newly installed SAP system known to SAP Solution Manager Login to Solution Manager and use transaction SMSY_SETUP
Click on Schedule Data Transfer from SLD and run the job immediately.
Execute saproot.sh kernel script sidadm> su root's Password: sidadm> cd /sapmnt/<SID>/exe sidadm> ./saproot.sh <SID>
Ask the DBA team to perform an offline and activate LOG_RETAIN mode of database
Configure Remote Connection to SAP Support Update System Data on SAP Service Marketplace and open required ports on saprouter and your firewall.
Upgrade DB2 to version 9.7 The DB2 database version is 9.1 in default installation. So, ask the DBA team to upgrade DB2 to version 9.7
Apply DB2 license Check & Apply DB2 license if required. Refer Note 816773 (DB6: Installing an SAP OEM license) and license files are stored at /pub/sap/Installmedia/DB2_License/Ver9.7. Copy the files to db2 home directory and Install the license as the db2<dbsid> user by using the following commands:
db2licm -a db2ese_c.lic db2licm -a db2dpf.lic db2licm -a db2so.lic db2licm -a db2poese.lic Use the db2licm l command to check whether you correctly installed the license.
A permanent license is installed for the product "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition" with the CPU option and the following features: DB2 database partitioning, DB2 storage optimization & DB2 performance optimization ESE
