1. PROJECT INVOLVEMENT Current Projects

I am involved in the following programme: 1. Technical Workshops School Programme which compile 9 projects from the LDoE. 2. Storm Damaged School Programme which compile 31 projects from the LDoE. 3. High Court Project from the LDoJ.

Nature of projects

The first Programme is about the construction of 2 new mechanical, civil and electrical workshops and the renovation to existing technical workshops in other 7 high schools. The second programme is about the renovation of damaged due to storm rain water in 31 schools around the entire province. The third one, is about the construction of a new high court in Polokwane.

Summary of activities within the projects

Monthly Report about quality and progress issues for each programme. Attending to site handover for commence new projects on behalf of IDT. Attending to practical completion of the projects on behalf of IDT. Exchanging technical criteria with a variety of consultants about better way to achieve the goals planned in each project. schedule agreed. The quality in all of them is acceptable, no one have been refused for the client because quality issues. The client and the consultants have seen our cooperation as a way to improve the IDT performance in terms of managing the programs. The amount of site visits to those projects have been increased bringing more technical control over them. The prove of evidence during the construction phases in all the project will keep as a record for the client and the organizacion.

Observations and lessons learned from the projects Critical constraints and challenges

Our performance have had a sensitive impact in the projects ,as our organization is able to make a close and deep control of the projects, which generate more confidence from the Government Organizations, to increase the portfolio of business for IDT.

The availability of all the technical information(drawings) to be able to check properly the projects is still a challenge and an issue to be resolved.
