Reports to: Job Goal: Minimum of a high school diploma required Effective word processing, communications, and public relations skills Experience using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Access Ability to maintain confidentiality in Office Proceedings, personnel and public records Knowledge of Windows, software knowledge required: Quick Books, Windows, MS Office, CEU tracker, e-rate, student databases (X2,PSIS), OCR, digital photography, e-mail, other as needed. Flexible schedule preferred Ability to learn and use new software applications

Director of Learning Resources and Technology To assist the Director of Learning Resources and Technology in handling daily running of the office as well as long-term projects

Performance/Responsibilities: Keep computerized inventories of district hardware, software, licenses, and e-mail accounts for local and state reports. Enter help-desk requests and monitor follow-up. Type purchase orders and internal invoices (reimbursements) and keep a log. Attach all pertinent information and follow up materials. Facilitate all return merchandise authorizations (RMAs). Monitor incoming and outgoing equipment and software purchases. File and organize all communications and materials for the Office of the Director of Learning Resources. Serve as a liaison for communication between the Director of Learning Resources the District Technical Support personnel. Assist the District Technical Support personnel and district staff members in computer troubleshooting. Assist with delivery and distribution of hardware, software and supplies. Make backup copies of all software purchased, and track licenses. Use optical character reader software to scan and save material in digital form. Use a digital camera and print digital photos. Enter district data online for the Universal Service Fund Reimbursement Program (E-rate) (forms 470, 471 and 486) Assist the Middlesex Consortium Coordinator and District Curriculum Coordinator in clerical duties such as grant writing, generating tables using Word, Excel and Microsoft Publisher, and updating and maintaining CEU software. Use appropriate software to maintain high school activity funds.

Manage the recycling of printer cartridges program that includes collection from the district schools and the Portland Public Library. Maintain and backup the student databases (local, state, Federal) and EzTraxx CEU databases onto file servers. Answer two telephone lines. Assist in professional development workshops. Process the mail. Use email to communicate with district staff Twelve month - 1.00 Salary: As per contract Evaluation: As per contract November 2005
