In our programs, we help patients restore energy & exercise balance and flexibility & trust through tailored opportunities with experienced staff. Meals and snacks are monitored and carefully balanced to meet individual needs. Opportunities for independence include cooking classes, grocery shopping, restaurant outings and moreall with experienced dietitians and staff. When medically stable, clients enjoy active groups such as yoga, fitness, daily walks, NIA, dance and movement therapy, and physical rehabilitation.

EATING DISORDERS TREATMENT PROGRAMS

McCALLUM PLACE is conveniently located


in historic Webster Groves, a charming area of St. Louis that has village-like shops, restaurants, parks, and universities within walking distance. Our surroundings offer freedom to practice recovery and privacy-a combination not typically found in a treatment setting. Our programs balance STRUCTURE and INDEPENDENCE, helping individuals build the confidence and skills necessary to LET GO of their patterns of restrictive eating, purging, and compulsive exercise.

LEVELS of CARE
Our RESIDENTIAL HOUSE is licensed by the Missouri Department of Mental Health. Patients are supervised with medical monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients stay in a large, historic home with modern amenities. Residential care may serve as an alternative to hospitalization for some patients who are medically compromised as a result of dangerously low body weight or frequent purging. Extra support is available for those who are beginning the refeeding process, who purge frequently, and exercise compulsively. PHP is offered seven days a week from 9:30am to 7:30pm, offering structure for up to 70 hours a week. Our TRADITIONAL PHP is offered seven days a week from 9:30am to 3:30pm, offering structure for up to 42 hours a week. Patients may either spend the night in our TRANSITION HOUSE, at home, or in an area hotel. Residential House, our Transition House offers a safe, nurturing, and real-life environment with staff support to help ease residents back into independent living. Additionally, residents may choose from a variety of transitional living options such as supported grocery shopping, community challenges and recovery coach sessions.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS

OUTPATIENT & AFTERCARE


After graduating from our programs, patients may continue with specialized outpatient groups and individual therapy on-site. A weekly Aftercare Alumni Support Group, weekly Family Support Group, and monthly Family Education Day are programs free for life.

DR. KIM MCCALLUM, M.D.


Kimberli McCallum, M.D. is a board-certified psychiatrist in child, adolescent, and in adult psychiatry and is a certified eating disorder specialist with 25 years of experience in the field. She received her MD from Yale School of Medicine, general psych training at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, and child and adolescent training at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. McCallum has co-founded several specialized eating disorders units, including inpatient, partial hospital, residential, and IOP. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) and the International Assoc. of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).
