Practicum Report Grading Rubric


Below, you will see all the areas that are objectively and thoroughly considered in the grading process. This rubric is a guideline for grading. The professor reserves the right to raise or lower a students final grade if it is believed that these rubric values have not credited assignment worth appropriately. PLEASE use this rubric as a checklist to help you as you prepare your report.

Title Page and General APA formatting

Running head is present and proper (i.e. Running head: ABBREVIATED TITLE). Page Number and abbreviated title (2-3 words) top R corner & present throughout paper. Full Title is appropriate and in proper place (see APA for good title content). Student information in proper place. Margins are all one inch. Headings are used to help organize paper and follow APA style. Each paragraph is indented and proper length, double- spaced, and there is not an additional space between paragraphs. Font size and style are correct (i.e. Times New Roman, or Courier 12 point font). Proper presentation of numerals (usually written up to nine, numerals 10 and up) Assignment is free of grammar and spelling errors. Be sure and thoroughly proof-read and use spell-check. Session Summaries (I, II, and III) 100 Date, time and location of each session is included, with all identifying information removed or changed to protect clients confidentiality. Each session summary is written in narrative style; no use of bulleted lists or annotated therapist notes. Background information and comments provided for each summary (includes couple dynamics or events that occurred prior to session). Narrative summary of each session (couple dynamics and counselor interactions that occurred during session). Assignments given for each session is provided. Counselor thoughts that occurred during and following each session, these would include your end thoughts and reactions. PAIR Test 100 Copy of PAIR2 profile form is included (can be submitted as a separate attachment). A detailed summary of the PAIR2 test results are provided, this means each of the 20 traits (in appropriate couplets) is explored. Provide your interpretations based on the couples scores in EACH trait/couplet. Dont simply state their score, describe what their score signifies. For good examples of what is expected, see Mastins sample interpretations beginning on p. 8 of the PAIR Interpretive Manual. Provide either in your session summary or PAIR2 summary, your clients reactions to the PAIR2 test and interpretations. Practicum Summary 25 Shared your personal responses and reactions to the counseling experience Discussed the personal awareness that arose for the counselor Provided a statement of what the counselor learned from this experience
