Community is a way of relating to other persons as brothers and sisters who share a common origin, a common dignity, and a common destiny. Community involves learning to live in terms of an interconnected "we" more than an isolated "I'. It involves making choices which reinforce the experience of relatedness and foster the sense of belonging and interdependence

Foundation for Community Encouragement Definitions: Definition 2. (Taken from Preparation and Guidelines for Community Building) A community is best defined as a group of people who, regardless of the diversity of their backgrounds, have been able to accept and transcend their differences, enabling them to communicate effectively and openly and to work together toward goals identified as being for their common good.

Definition 3 . ( taken from an untitled, 4 page handout they often used in mailings) A community is a group of two or more people who have been able to accept and transcend their differences regardless of the diversity of their backgrounds (social, spiritual, educational, ethnic, economic, political, etc.) This enables them to communicate effectively and openly and to work together toward goals identified as being for their common good. The word community. . . can refer to a specific group of people (a geographical community, a church congregation) or it can describe a quality of relationship based on certain values and principles.

Communities are as varied and individual as its members. Often people belong to two or more communities. Family, education, business, work, sport, religion, culture all involve communities that we take for granted as a normal part of our lives. They seem to be a part of the background. Its only when things are not going the way that we want, that we take any notice of them. Most people think of communities as a place or setting, or a suburb or city that they live in. Communities are much more that that. They are the very essence of how we live and socialise with others. We have our own personal communities, the communities that we are a part of and the communities that we associate with. Communities are the building blocks that allow us to make sense of the world in which we live, participate and share experiences. They provide a sense of identity and purpose, a sense of being a part of and belonging.

General OBJECTIVES

At the end of two day exposure at Purok Kamancilles, Tres de Mayo, Digos City, the group will be able to find a family to be the focus for the case study. Specific objectives -obtain sufficient information regarding the family background. - formulate a nursing care plan that is applicable for the specified family - educate the family about proper nutrition and its benefits - Inculcate health teachings for the family to follow - Explain and discuss the rationale of the different nursing interventions to the family - Provide the needed information or knowledge to attain a healthy living SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY To the family This study is important because this will help them gain knowledge on how to develop their lifestyle to attain a healthy living. This is important for them to be aware and prevent the possible diseases that they may acquire with their wrong means of living. To the students This is for the students to motivate their self-esteem and create understanding regarding health problems prior to the said community SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS There are several limitations in conducting the study and mostly the time management. The exposure was conducted only within two days and for this instance, this difficulty is a hindrance for us to finish the given task for the reason that we dont have enough time. Conducted survey was restricted only at Purok Kamancilles, Tres de Mayo, Digos City.
