Question 1: Give me an instance where you led a team to solve an extremely difficult problem in your past job under huge time constraints. How did you go about it? What was the outcome? How helpful was your team? Remarks: Good communications, but the mentioning of facts and achievements missing. Question 2: How did you land up in NITIE? Grades: a2 Traits: a) Clarity of objectives to be achieved b-2 b) Ability to anticipate and plan Remarks: personal career Not satisfied with the answer and need more clarity Question 3: How would you go if you had to launch a new product? Question 1: You must have gone through our requirements for the post. So what type of marketing experience do you have? Traits: a) Understanding of requirements b) Leveraging Experience c) Knowledge of relevant product and industry Question 2: In this MANDI program you must have sold your products(not able to complete my question as candidate started giving answer) My question was In this MANDI program you must have sold your products, so what type of products you sold? and next question was what strategies you opted for selling these street products? Traits: a) Ability to do market research and analysis b) Ability to understand the customer demand c) Judgment of people while selling Question 3: In Nutshell what are the basic steps and marketing plan or strategies you developed while doing the marketing plan for new product? Traits : a) Developing marketing strategies b) Innovation c) Decision making ability d) Collaboration Grades a1 b2 c2 Remarks: The work experience was not in accordance with the Job Description or requirement. Candidate has not understood the total requirement and responsibilities of job profile even though he has relevant educational qualification with good theoretical knowledge. Grades a0 b2 c3 Remarks: This was proofing question supplementing to earlier question. But could not complete question as candidate started answering without understanding the exact question. The answer given was not at all relevant to question. Instead he explained how he organized event which was not required for job profile.

Grades: a3 b3 c3 d3 Remarks: Candidate is aware of basic strategies to be used for marketing but is lagging the implementation part of these strategies. The grades are given based on his reply and work done in MANDI activity. The answer to this question is not up to mark of requirement of job description.

Question 4: Many time customers is at upper hand. All the time he says that he dont want this product. In this situation how will you tackle such type of behavior of customer? Traits: a) Handling Stress b) Persuasiveness c) Problem analysis and problem solving ability Question 5: You will be given a target of 100 crores to achieve. But by the year end, you could make only 70 crores. Balance 30 crores you have to manage. There is third country Turkey which is ready to give business of 10-15 crores, but insisting on heavy discount of 25%. Your management can permit only 10% maximum. How will you convince the management for higher discounts to bag the order? Traits: a) Planning and organizing yearly marketing schedule b) Ability to determine and manage marketing budget c) Pricing strategies d) Negotiation skills e) Convincing and formal presentation skills

Grades: a2 b2 c2 Remarks: This was real time question. Initially candidate didnt understand the question. He was explaining how to develop the product. Hence, question was repeated with little explanation. He may have handled the situation in practical but could not explain the exact expected answer. Grades: a0 b1 c0 d1 e2 Remarks: Candidate wasted time in giving vague answer to this question. The answer was not structured. Even though he was told the situation, he was trying to modify the situation. When we tried to bring him to the track, he said he is coming to point. But still he was far away from given point. The relevance of profit analysis was not at all related to the question posed. However, he could not get sufficient time to complete his answer.

View Bit raw but confident individual. Can be trained and oriented as per the firms requirements. Has the domain knowledge and has a CAN DO attitude!!! I have a positive outlook towards this candidate. Can be recruited if a consensus is achieved with my other colleagues. YES

View The candidates profile was not matching with the job description. He has an autocratic leadership style and wanted others to follow him. Candidate tries to take credit of all group activities he did like MANDI. He seems to be more aggressive. The candidate is rejected. He has not understood the requirement of the job profile. He needs to work more on his listening skills NO

View Even though the candidate was having relevant educational qualification, he was not having required experience for Marketing Managers job profile. The answers were not specific to the questions asked. The contents of answers were insufficient to handle the post of Marketing Manager. The candidate is thus rejected. He needs to work more on his listening ability, structuring the answers specific to questions. NO
