Course in Animation and Visual Effects (36months)

HZU has been established under Act No. 17 of 2003 of the State Legislative Assembly, Government of Uttaranchal (Act 2003, Uttaranchal Adhiniyam Sankhya 17 of 2003) and has since become operational. The B.Sc. in Animation & Visual Effects will be conferred by Himgiri Zee University (Formerly Himgiri Nabh Vishwavidyalaya) and the course will be available & serviced at its study centre (Zee Institute of Creative Art (ZICA)).

Zee Institute of Creative Art (ZICA) is the nation's first full-fledged Classical and Digital Animation Training Academy that trains youth in classical 2D and modern 3D animation. The past fifteen years has seen the institute nurture some of the brightest talents in the world of animation. At ZICA, a lot of emphasis is laid on the principles of art and design and fundamentals of classical animation, while extracting the same knowledge to computer based Digital animation. Students are also assured of creative exposure with a healthy mix of theory and practical sessions, delivered with the right amalgamation of Art & technology, under the supervision of in-house experienced faculties and industry experts from India and abroad. ZICA propagates the inherent artistic and aesthetic skills in each student, rather than only the software, which keeps on upgrading from time to time.

SOFTWARE: Autodesk Maya Semester VI Show- reel Development (6 Months) In the animation industry a show-reel is the passport to a career in a studio. A good show-reel has to be a compilation of various assignments of the students. Hence every student completing an animation program must have a well compiled & a complete show-reel. Students at ZICA would develop an individual show-reel under the expert guidance of the experienced faculties at the end of the course & one completed animated short film in any format.

Admission process Admission on BSC-Animation & VFX online course is conducted twice in a year i.e., in January & July. January batch: The admission of the course commences every year from 1st November. The last day of receipt of completed application is 31st January. July batch: The admission of the course commences every year from 1st May. The last day of receipt of completed application is 31st July. Exam process: There is an online exam after the completion of every semester followed by a theory as well as a practical test.
