    The vapor compression refrigeration test rig allows students to study the vapor compression refrigeration cycle using R134a refrigerant. The system components are visible and arranged to easily observe and understand the cycle. Experiments can be conducted to study the cycle characteristics, temperatures and pressures at different points, coefficient of performance, power, and refrigeration flow rate. The cooling of the freezer compartment can also be analyzed. The rig uses a 1/3 HP hermetically sealed compressor, 5 liter evaporator/freezer, and air cooled condenser.

    SYNOPSIS
    Description:
    The REFRIGERATION test rig works on simple vapour compression refrigeration cycle and uses R134a as a refrigerant. It is environment friendly. The system is fabricated such that students can observe and study vapour compression cycle, its component principle & working. The arrangement of parts such that, all the parts are visible and working can be easily understood.

    OBJECTIVE :
    The equipment to conduct experiments to study the following. a) To study the characteristics of Vapour Compression refrigeration Thermodynamic cycle. b) The Temperature & Pressures at various at various points before & after Compression and Expansions of the refrigerant. c) The COP, Power, Refrigeration Flow Rate. d) The variation of cooled medium in the Freezer compartment.

    SPECIFICATION:
    TYPE : Vapour Compression Compressor : 1/3 HP Hermetically Sealed, Kirloskar make. Refrigerant : Freon 12/R 134. Evaporator/Freezer : 5 Liters. Cooling : By Capillary Tubes /By Throttle valve. Condenser : Air cooled.
